More likely that we don’t play in Melbourne than Alice. Lions would have to be kept away to keep the integrity of the schedule.

Surreal times.

Hope NT lets us in.

There is the issue of Queensland not allowing Brisbane to travel to Victoria.

QLD probably won't let us travel to QLD so is Sydney/Canberra the only option?

Our home game so we should get home ground advantage. Play it in Alice, have all the guys take a 2nd test this week if need be.

No I disagree It makes perfect logic if we can get a crowd to play at theG.

Reduce  to 40% we get 35,000 snd make some money and transfer Hawthorn  game later in year to Alice.  Not Adelaide   Game.

Hope they play it at Metricon Stadium for the selfish reason that I’m currently hunkered down and doing it rough in the warmth and brilliant sunshine of late autumn on the Gold Coast while my thoughts are always with my fellow Victorians, locked down, shivering and huddled around fireplaces. I’m up for the challenge of single handedly supporting the Demons to a big win at Carrara if Gillon provides me with the challenge.

Isn't it more a case of Brisbane not being able to return to Queensland or us to travel to Queensland?

Would be a big financial blow if we can’t go to the NT. That game is worth $700k to us.
I hope we can reason with the NT. They seem less insane than QLD and WA. Perhaps we can fly out there early, go into a mini lockdown, test and then play and fly straight home after the game?

This would be massive for the NT  i can understand their government's position its a shame they want to give up this oppourtunity prime time Friday Night, they have been loyal to us in the darkest of times.

Would be extremely cruel to prevent them from such a marquee event one in which they thought would never eventuate.

I understant covid is the issue but the players, staff and coaches are quarantining at home and aren’t in contact with others from the public.

Whispering, I'm right with ya, hard to cop these winter temps of 22 degrees. If the game is down there I'll be right with ya. But unfortunately think we may bet our bye this week with a resigned schedule for later in the season

The best outcome would be a game swap. Move a future game against a lesser Melbourne based club to next weekend.

First question is who has the bye next week and are we scheduled to play them twice.

DJ , at this point you could argue that they are all lesser clubs. ?

Sadly covid has compromised the financial position of most clubs . We sold our home games so we could reduce our losses as our games at G were often against interstate side at bad times( how many mothers day games did we get( excluding this year)  . A couple of successful years should increase membership . Not sure when nt contract expires but hopefully soon .  A 700k loss would really hurt us

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
