And to all the Fritta haters, maybe serve yourself a bit of humble pie tonight

What about Cordy mouthing off at him after obviously getting him high.

Fritsch just went back, curled the goal around, and got on with it.

I'm just 'over the moon' stoked.  That win was for all of us!!!

Most complete game i have seen from this club in a long long time, everyone playing their role and great field awareness......... almost looked like the Melbourne Storm type of TEAM performance. Maybe Bellyache has been doing some mentoring.

Choco Williams had been a great addition and success.

Well done MFC.

?

Umpiring was appalling.

22 is dead set the worst in the comp.

He was better but he was drowning in his own bath water since the NM game and we all saw it.

He is a point of difference but IMO, the 3 Pressure forwards and McDonald are more important than Fritsch and he needs to fit into that system and not disrupt it.

So no pie is eaten this night.

All I’ll say is I’m having some hydralyte now before bed but tomorrow mornings run is going to hurt... so so much

My ‘little’ highlight of the night was Jackson reading and roving his opponent’s hit-out in the centre during the third quarter. Wasn’t his best game but that effort was almost taking the pizz.

And once more: the AFL's clash jumper "policy" is a [censored] disgrace.

We can't wear red vs the Dogs, and in the Sir Doug Nicholls round to boot, but Essendon can wear a black jumper on ANZAC Day against Collingwood, and Carlton gets to wear its home jumper against Richmond, Collingwood and Essendon.

Steven May was talking during the week about how much it meant to him to be able to wear the jumper in Sir Doug Nicholls round.

To some it's a small issue but for a competition that wants to be elite, it's a disgrace.

Fritsch played well but in 2 of the last 4 games he had been worse than appalling

For all those questioning Brayshaws place in the side, tonight was a great example of how wrong they were.

one of the more selfess team games you're likely to see

I hope the AFL let us wear the indigenous jumper in another round.  Probably next week would be appropriate.

In the pre game picked us to win by 26. Only a couple out but boy have we some more improvement to go. Excited what this club can do as I think again we were not at our best but did what was required. Great effort and bring on the Lions wherever we may play.

We're wearing it next week, we were always going to for a game in the NT I think.

We'll presumably wear it again later this year in a home game against GWS or something, but this was Sir Doug Nicholls round, this was the round where the league shone its light on our indigenous players, this was the round it meant the most.

pretty sure we always wear the indigenous jumper when we play in the alice?

(although whether we play in the alice next week is still tbd)

Ok so my first thought was tonights win makes last weeks loss even worse because we could have gone 2 games clear of top.

However that was just a great 4 quarter performance. I seriously was expecting it to be so close and if I'm honest I didn't think we would win and certainly not like that.

We just dominated from start to finish and at no stage did I really feel nervous. For once we played practically a complete game and from the start to the end we were brilliant. We never let the dogs back in it.

I was watching on the tv while listening to mmm and they were commenting how when the dogs wanted to switch we just blocked there corridor. May and Lveer mentioned that after the game to. They wanted to jam the corridor.

Petty came into the game and did well as did weiderman. Harmes did a great job on Libba and I thought Spargo was great and Brayshaw came into the game really well. Love seeing Tommy kick the goals and Rivers was outstanding.

Well done boys.

George McFly had his moments tonight didn’t he?! Consistency is his key.

Loved it, remember the exact moment. Rover in a ruckman’s body

If that was your first thought you need to chill out a bit.

We're 10-1. We just beat a side almost no one thought we'd beat. We're 4-0 against the top 8, 5-0 if you include Richmond.

Defensive masterclass tonight. Looks like we really didn’t like losing and aimed to address that this week. Focused, fierce and just fantastic tonight.

No, that was Carey.

Daisy Pearce stands out in this commentary line up. The rest are morons.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
