Am i going crazy? Am i right that Frankston are no longer in the VFL?

What a powerhouse they were.

I think Frankston is back in along with another 2,327 teams from the rest of Australia.

A billion? Really?

Also, there's some suggestion the removalists did not break the mask-wearing rule which may have an exemption for professionals (for want of a better term) while they are moving furniture.

Dont really care just sick of the un hinged hectoring from politicians health professionals and media professionals

yes well over a billion dollars never said  the removalists did break laws what I'm talking about is the over the top reaction by the people running the show Police offficers giving health advice and warning us all of the consequences and risk of charges and fines when its a hollow threat

what we need is calmness and clear concise communication something that went missing when this Pandemic started

NT has opened its borders to Victoria. Do you think we play the Gold Coast in Darwin?

Seems the easiest path given both Qld and Vic can travel freely to from NT

I've gone from obsessively checking infection numbers and related info to refreshing twitter feeds and checking demomnland for any information on where our game in 3 DAYS is going to be played.

Please let it be Metricon

That would only happen if they rescheduled all the game timings, and have the broadcasters agree, we couldn't play at 3:10pm in Darwin - it'll be 32 degrees! Whereas at Metricon it's only projected to be 22.

Really hoping it's metricon as well, just so I can finally get to a game this year. I was in Melbourne for 2 games this year and couldn't go due to snap lockdowns

NT will be driven by money

If NT govt is prepared to pay Suns it's on.

I suspect NT is trying to delay game until next week so they can get some economic benefit from the activity.

Get ready to be shafted ... it's the Melbourne way

Games played in the southern states in late March and April are often played in temperatures of 32 degrees or more. I hope we don't have to go to Darwin to play during the night or day, but I'm not sure a 32 degree temperature in the dry season will be sufficient reason to stop it from happening.

The NT decision will also be driven by the broadcaster who may not have enough time to setup all the required camera equipment around the ground etc. given it's a non standard venue.

I recall last year they played Alice Springs and Darwin in back to back rounds and the Channel 7 team drove between the two grounds with all the gear and setup in the week in between.

Aunty Annastacia might put the slows on the GC V Dees game going ahead with this development?

Sign of the times but I would be surprised if they were DJ.

Yes, made in Wuhan, but the parts came in a frozen container from the US military....

Pretty sensible and logical view by the sports minister.

How can you implement a "No jab No entry" policy if there's not enough vaccine to go around?

And in a related point, if certain age groups have been locked out of the process until it's too late to be fully vaccinated before the Grand Final.

Round 1, 2022 is a different matter. I'd be all for it then.

I agree with you both entirely, but I can nevertheless foresee the government saying that throughout the pandemic different pockets of society have been impacted in different ways, that there is no universal fairness, and that it's in the best interests of the competition/economy/society generally if we have a Grand Final with 100,000 vaccinated fans as compared to 40,000 allowing unvaccinated.

It would disappoint and anger me unquantifiably, but I can see it happening.

Surely they’ll defer this policy until months after the additional vaccines come into Australia.

You can’t promote getting vaccinated but not yet have the product available for all.

It would be absolute discrimination for that cohort of society (under 40’s) to be excluded from the event and should be challenged.

I wouldn’t get to worried about it, there’s no way that is happening. Not only is it unfair for the people who haven’t been able to get vaccinated but vaccinated people can still get and spread it.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
