Premiership contenders don't lose to teams like Adelaide.    We might make a prelim but we wont win the flag.

The  Dogs and Lions will beat us the next two weeks.

had to win that for top 4  no way now  will finish 7th or 8th  Too many passengers tonight and too many mistakes  [censored] I am angry

Kick randomly out of congestion, and without thought, opposition marks it: check

Handball to teammate under pressure: check.

Fumble the ball on the ground: check

Miss simple marks: check

Unpressured turnovers: check

Don't do/give first option and get tackled: check.

I just hope that is as bad as we get.

I know we could have played better but that whistle blew straight away when Max was tackled. Seconds later a crows player disposes incorrectly...no whistle...mark and goal.

But the icing on the cake was to not call that punch over the line not deliberate. No player there.

They have been on that ALL YEAR FOR MUCH MUCH LESS.

As soon as it can impact a crows game they change their minds.

Come on.

Really.

If thats not bias umpiring there never has been.

I just hope its discussed during the week because I need to know how it was justified.

Edited by leave it to deever

To blame anyone but ourselves for that loss is to wallpaper over the obvious cracks that have been there since we beat Richmond.
I hope this is the loss we had to have because boy did we play poorly for large chunks of that game. Oliver kept us in it,  but beyond that we had a really embarrassing amount of players who played like selfish millionaires.
In footy you get out what you put in. We put in no effort for an hour. We’ve been getting away with it, but eventually your luck runs out.
Salem is also basically our most important player. Our backline was exceptionally poor without him. He covers for the mediocrity of Hunt and Hibberd.

Our skills remain poor

The one thing Goodwin hasn't managed to change

Too many passengers today. Far far too many players just terrible. Clarry nearly got us out of jail but I would have felt that we’d stolen one. Terrible non-calls at the end. Never like to look at umpiring but the sport would be better if it was consistent.

It looks like the Demonland server is also disgusted by a loss to the Crows? ?

They wanted it more. The Maggots will be slipped a paper bag full on their way out. The sooner Viney and Salem are back the better. Our forward line was pathetic.

It was a great game.

Feel we were robbed but at the same time Crows earned it.

The deliberate I could potentially understand with all the panic with 20s to go, but the holding the ball was as bad as the Zac Bailey one. Just gutless umpiring

Tigers lost to Adelaide in 2017 and 2019.

Thank you.

Faaaaark

Going to get smashed at the Broadbeach Blues Festival!!!

It's a shame, that was one of the all time great games from Clarry. And yet a couple of cowards in yellow ruined it.

Anyway we should never have let them get so close and I've never seen May and co play so badly.

[censored] it was not a great game

Not going to blame the umpires, it should never have been so close.

We’re too reliant on our defence

Max is a liability with ball in hand.

Oliver incredible game.

Few blokes Hibberd, Hunt and others continually exposed one-on-one.

Jackson is a machine.

Weed was terrible.

You shouldn't lose 16 points up with five minutes to go.

Adelaide played a great game, the spectacle was actually awesome.

We lost to a worthy performance IMO. Non calls hard not to dwell on tho

We had too many passengers tonight, slow across the ground and general awareness was terrible. The run downnkn Max when we had 2 outliers....... Never Jetta is cooked, Salem is so critical to the back six

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
