Hardwick's arrogance is most nauseating:  “Mate, I hate coming here... {Marvel}".  hardwick-press-conference-marvel-stadium-crowd-home-game-complain

He is becoming as big a whinger as Scott.  They are now equal as my most disliked AFL coach.

Apparently their worst since 2004 vs Freo (wooden spoon year)

Talk on the radio about how the Richmond coach actually said “I don’t like going to Docklands” ( I haven’t heard the quote so not sure of it), but the hosts were like I’ve got the worlds smallest violin for Hardwick… and that the fans don’t travel to it..(above is the quote and it’s as bad as it can be for a coach of the biggest club in the land, what a f log)

The whole conversation sounded so familiar.

Just shows how fair weather the tigers fans are, lose a few games and they drop off

Well MFC isn't as we were shafted to this  role up to about 2014/15 snd just as Jeff K has said it's not financially viable Generally playing an interstate team on Mother's Day.

We complained and now don't get that gig and the Hawks are also unhappy.

Point out  when we last won On Mothers Day and the results and crowd?

You are condemning the Club although in a much better situation now than say 2014 to a financial burden if you selfishly think we should be rostered in this time slot.

When you are f#$##@ S@%$ thats the type of sandwich you are served, suck it up Jeffy boy, Peggy, Elliott, Joffa.

Its our time to shine we've crawled through miles of s#$% for years and finally come out clean on the other side.

Not an ounce of sympathy for those mongrels.

What an entitled [censored] Hardwick is

Aren't we being a bit precious? Hasn't Demonland been full of posters for years bemoaning us playing home games at Marvel/Etihad? I happen to agree with Hardwick...Richmond shouldn't play home games at Marvel and neither should we.

PS: Hardwick is a shocking whinger, though.

Wasn't long ago when Hardwick was on the verge of tears during post game interviews.
Now he smacks of arrogance and thinks he's the font of all knowledge.
If he didn't have Dusty Martin he wouldn't even be there.

I think to be absolutely fair no MCG team should be playing at Marvel unless it's for a reason that has been approved by the club.

Nice to see them having a whinge about it though.

100%

Every club should play their 11 home games where they choose.

This includes geelong who should have 11 home games down there if they want them and so the likes of richmond, Collingwood and Essendon (who havent been there since 1993!!!!) Have to go down there too.

Added to that, if its your home game you wear whatever the hell you want and the opposition has to not clash.... but thats another topic

Port will bar-up if that comes to fruition.

Yep and Richmond trying to distract public from the nightclub altercations. Brendan Gale should never be considered for the top job at the AFL

Take a look at Dustys stats in 2021 and they basically determine their win loss outcomes other than for 1 game out of 9

Don't have to tell me man.
Whenever they're under the pump it's Martins heroics that drag their arzes from the flames.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Kennett. He is the most pig headed arrogant President the game has ever seen.

Further more whinging about not getting an AFLW team when his club wanted nothing to do with it when it started!

Hopefully we poach all of the talent they develop in their VFLW team for our AFLW team to stick the knife in deeper!

Hardwick now arguing for elimination of prior opportunity.

My cynicism antenna is saying but "don't you have the best tackle breaker in the game."

Just cannot understand a push to punish the player who is actually making the play

I assume you are too young to remember John Elliott as President of Carlton, although his association with pig's anatomy is more associated with it's backside than it's head.

Yes, it's a great Port Adelaide tradition.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
