the filth shenanigans at board level are fascinating

i'm fully expecting tom browne's dad and ed's best mate, jeff, to be president by the start of 2022

it's just how messy it goes; i'm hoping for the holden / etihad / nike / mcdonalds / to hell with the olympic trust centre to burn itself to the ground

A supercoach  is a Hardwick who built his team through  the draft without any advantage  that other teams building don't have, if he is a super coach then he will drive the Hawks to be a  superpower again, i bet he won't

No I don't think he will be there that long.  Hardwick, till they sacked all his assistants and started again he had an average record, rest is history. Fingers crossed that's the epoch change just happened at the Dee's.

So, Wizard of Koz and phuket demon are one and the same poster.  How many other aliases do you have?  You should probably check which name you are logged in under before you respond to posts.

As an aside, @Demonlandis there a way we can transfer the posts from this discussion re: Eddie, Collingwood and the board that exist in this thread to a new thread?

It’s a genuinely fascinating discussion and no one means any ill will starting it here, but it could derail the thread. It kind of started organically.

Jeepers ease up, that sounds ace to me. Bit of Tahbilk or Gapsted. Bit of massage at the Dinner Plain Onsen.

We get boxes of Tahbilk. Awesome stuff.

Me and me mates have nicknamed Horethorn 'Hypocrite Highway' for years. This sort of behaviour has been baked into their DNA for years.

Leaving political allegiances completely out of it, it's instructive that a male former Premier is attacked for his actions but a female former Premier is attacked for her appearance.

you see a lot of strange things in phuket, ds

Hawthorn are the club i would most like to see languish for a decade or so. Entitled supporters and a president completely lacking in self awareness. Their list management over the past couple of seasons has been the epitome of hubris. They're miles off. I hope Tassy kick them out as well.

Hawks have had enough success to last several lifetimes but the club's I want to see down the bottom for an extended period are the Blues and Bombers. Blues havent won a flag for 25 years, Bombers for 20 and if it extends for a few more decades it would be just fine by me.

Talking about clubs walking in our shoes.  Suck it up Hawks supporters!

For the third time in four seasons, the last remaining winless team records its first win of the year against Hawthorn.

2021: Kangaroos def Hawks, Rd 9
2020: Crows def Hawks, Rd 15
2019: Blues def Bulldogs, Rd 5
2018: Lions def Hawks, Rd 9

I think Clarkson also became a victim of his and his clubs own arrogance by trying to Moneyball it with broken players such as Scully, O’Meara, and Patton. When the champions retired/moved on he didn’t want to cliff to come so he kept topping up and it’s ended up being a part of their own demise.

Keep giving them Sunday 1pm games, let’s see how many turn up. My guess is their crowd figures will be about on par to our Bailey/Neeld years.

To be fair, they have had a pretty good run with trading, Patton and Scully could have gone differently easily. As much as I loathe Jeff, they have had an awesome football department for a long time, personally I am not throwing rocks at them yet, they might be good enough to get going again in a few years, even with an anchor like Jeff at the club. Happy for them to be a basket case bit it is a bit like criticising the All Black's, just admit they are good and move on.

18k at Marvel last night. Has to be the worst Richmond crowd in Melbourne for a long time.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
