Go Dee’s....!!!!!!

That's what's so nice.

I’m... pretty excited

Trac signing for 7 years is the most exciting thing to happen all year

this is how premiership teams are made

We have no point of defence for this so just be glad we are not walking around wearing umbrellas as slippers.

Also, we have been waiting a while so we are reassessing what we expect to happen almost weekly - and that is going to end in tears one way or the other...

What are you talking about rp?

Mushrooms are good today?

The big thing for me is keeping our list as fit/injury-free as possible. Do that and we'll give 2021 a real shake. Luck is so tied to success in the AFL.

So yeah, keeping a lid on it...

Pushed at the boundaries, and went well over.

 Don't like that innuendo.

Luck is certainly a key element.

As someone who is nearly old enough to remember 1964, I do think momentum is a key element that is often under-rated. It can snowball against you, or for you.

The benefits of momentum are increasingly appearing for the Demons in 2021. I don't think many of us could have anticipated an outcome such as Christian P. signing for 7 years, a good 18 months before his current contract expires.

This has to have a positive impact on the group, and then makes the job of singing our next wave of young stars significantly easier.

For what it is worth, I think we are now a very good chance of capturing Merrett's interest at the end of the year as well.

It's all about whether Essendon match our offer.

I can't imagine they wouldn't, but it depends how much he wants to come.

Whilst it is apparent for some that Goodwin can't coach, it appears EVERYONE loves Goodwin at the club, so why WOULDN'T Merrett want to come (sorry for yelling)

Excited....no, proud yes.  Havent seen footy like this for 20 years.

Why not get excited?

The lids off, its way off.
We have the cattle, the game plan and the coaches to go all the way.
The players are resigning on long deals at a rapid rate. Everything (bar Tomlinsons injury) is going right at the club for once.

However it’s very competitive at the top end of the ladder, there’s about 6 teams that have shown enough to suggest they can win it all this year.

Just being a team that can contend, come back in games when challenged and win games gets me excited.

We are a competitive chance to win any game, against anyone in the competition and that is enough to get excited about.

Very sharp Mr DS.

Well  if I wasn’t already excited, I certainly am now!!!

I wasn’t expecting to go to this week’s game, but to my sheer Dee-light I am!

Just gonna share...

I have a husband and three sons, not one of whom is even remotely Interested in footy, nor sport in general. (I must’ve done something terrible in a previous life.) In particular, my 25yo son, a green tea-sipping, vegan, climate-change-active, tree-hugging, incense-burning, totes left-leaning, full-time uni. student who lives in a share house in Footscray that has no less than eight different recycling bins. He takes me to a handful of games each season but that’s usually after I wage a war of attrition, which I always eventually win. Incidentally, I find the most effective ammo in my arsenal is a protracted campaign of “can you take us to Mt. Splashmore?” type nagging. But...

He just called to tell me he’s bought us tickets to Saturday’s game! I didn’t even have to ask!

I am SO not gonna put him up for adoption, now. ?

and you try to tell the young people of today that....they won't believe you

And I thought my sister was bad with FOUR different recycling/waste Bins.

I shall not judge her so harshly.

What is your son saving the planet for ? Not his children or  your grandchildren I don't think !

It's been a pretty great few weeks for us long suffering supporters! Oliver re-signs, Salem re-signs, comprehensively beat the Tigers, undefeated on top of the ladder, Jackson rising star nomination, Petracca re-signs - even Fritsch getting off at the tribunal.

Let's hope this run continues throughout the year and we finally get some reward for our years/decades of heartache.

I’d ask him but I wouldn’t want to put him into the embarrassing situation of not having an answer. ?

I'm pretty excited.
Not thinking premierships but definitely thinking deep into finals.
Boys are playing for each other and enjoying their footy.
Young guns Jackson and Picket coming along in leaps and bounds and looking to be genuine thoopastars of the future.
Key signings without all the usual BS.
Mounting injury list my only fear.
Long term knee for Tomlinson a huge downer.

Wow, I've been using a hair drier for years; on batteries, on circuit boards and on shrink wrapping/ insulation. I don't have any hair so it's been great re-purposing but who would have thought you could find even more uses!

Apologies, I thought you where talking about a hair dryer, oops! Now hair conditioner; I've only been able to repurpose as a lubricant! ..... no you filthy beast, not that kind of lubricant.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
