We are good at nullifying the opposition. Four weeks in a row, made them look 2nd tiers.

Was Duncan, Miers or Guthrie playing.

Great game plans Coaches.

Was excellent coaching and good execution by the players

Not sure who negated Guthrie in 1st Qrt but saw Jones playing tagging fwd role in 3rd and 4th on Tuohy and others. ANB, Spargo, Pickett, Sparrow all played great defensive roles

Viney and Tracc smashed them in the guts and Oliver did his bit while fending off a hard tag. Even Tmac had a good contested game

The pressure from everyone was the massive highlight for me! I am pumped to see us grind a good team, particularly when they had a great 10 minute stretch to narrow the gap

Thanks Jumbo but this is sad news indeed.

I think it was an accident but hawkins should not have been swinging his elbows around.

On that basis anyone could do it and hide under the same pretext.

Like a ball over the line on purpose or not...how do you judge intent?

Langdon is a genuine star of our team. What he brought to our side is invaluable. Probably our most important recruit this decade.
Also thought Gus did exceptionally well when thrown down back when May went down.
We showed really maturity to turn the momentum in the last quarter and not let the horrid umpiring get to us.
Some of the decisions today were baffling.

My only let down today was Melksham. He did nothing offensively and defensively he is trash.

That was just a genuine great win.  Everyone contributed, nobody shirked and we operated as a unit all game.  Yes, there were a few moments of idiocy that cost us goals, but overall we once again controlled the game and didn't panic when they got a run on.

Of particular note is the fact that we were never behind.  Not once in that game.  We scored first and they never caught up.  I don't remember the last time that happened.  Even with our usual trouble converting, that was pretty close to a complete game.

Is anyone else noticing how much the twins (Hunt and Langdon) are feeding off each other?  It seems to me that Landon's presence on the outside has inspired Hunt and he's now working much harder to match his lookalike.

Sparrow is always in the top bracket for pressure acts.

Maybe we should leave him in the team...   even though I didnt mind Melk coming in.

My 3 favourite moments other than the magnificent win:

1) Free kick against Selwood for a high tackle on the ducking Spargo in the first q. Can dish it out but can't take it!

2) Seeing Viney mark in front of goal and watching Selwood (his direct opponent and 15m away) pointing to all and sundry in a 'not my fault way'

3) Kossie standing over Selwood as mentioned earlier..... say no more

Yes, I have a problem with Selwood, or should I say, had

Goodwin and his coaching staff deserve a lot of the credit.

He has picked a team that has not changed in the first 4 rounds

When the opposition gets on top, we now have a plan B and C to counter this.

Our defensive set up is the best I've seen in recent memory.

The team is playing for each other and for their coach.

I thought Jackson was in the ruck too long but it paid off with Max finishing with a full tank.

Did you see him sooking when Spargo did the same to him? Been doing it for years but can't cop it when it goes the other way

Also a highlight was Kozzie giving him lip after he gave a free to KP. There was something left hanging from half time siren

Champion footballer, butalways gives a hard-done-by display which is rich for a bloke who's professionalised the art of getting soft frees

He lacks the humility of a Dangerfield/Ablett Jnr who show much more respect when beaten

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
