We actually look quite polished with the ball. Saints butcher it quite a bit but their pace and pressure hurts us behind the ball.

Ratten is coaching very well atm with a squad missing a lot of best 22 players.

So much possession for such little reward

Good fight back though

Bayley Fritsch is a coach killer ... really needs to get serious about the game

Now just [censored] win it

Agreed.
Give him a f&@$?n ROCKET up his a&$e.

I would have thought that swearing at an umpire was an automatic 50.  St Kilda did it at least twice and..... Nothing!

What is great, is that the young guns are showing the way. With a legitimate tall in the 50, we could be very good.

Kossie, Sparrow, Dogga, JJ, Rivers - keep it up boys!

I hate when I get reminded of why I love footy. Stop toying with my emotions.

We looked better with Jackson in the ruck. Perhaps the unpredictability of that allows our mids to get on their bike a bit. Lots more movement in the middle there.

Im sorry, but what has happned to Gawn.

The saints ruckman are actually paying attention to him. No easy marks behind the play

Bound to happen at some point. Munted body with a few knee recons, carrying the team for so long. Frail body, great tap ruckman and we need to start adjusting to that. Jackson good in ruck as a harder body. Best we start bullding some flexibility and diversity in ruck role.

He is getting smashed at each marking contest and getting no love from the maggots

Fritsch is useless, worst kick in the AFL by far!!!

It is Spud’s Game, but that doesn’t mean StK need to be helped to victory.

Sparrows was great he will be a very good player ,such composuer for a young bloke

Whats the point ?

12 to 5 frres against us.

Fair shake of the sauce bottle.

I just want consistency.

12 to 5 and we are winning.

??????????

Amazing the umps put the whistle away in the first 15 minutes. That’s okay if they stay consistent but no by second quarter they are picking frees out of their [censored], mostly to the Saints. Again we are own worst enemy with our goal kicking, should be 2 goals up at least. I am a great fan of Fritsch but if you can’t kick a goal from 30m on a 30 degree angle I think we have to look at alternatives once we have our big forwards available.

How good are Jordan and Rivers?

Keep two forwards in our forward half at all times, we win this game.

First half of that second quarter we had no one one forward of 50 and it killed us.

Viney getting caught with the ball was not his fault. He literally had nothing to go to.

Would be hard to tell on TV.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
