How can you dominate possession like that and only kick 3 goals and be up by only 2 points?  This [censored] team....

Ask the blokes that gave their full forward 2 free kicks that resulted in 2 goals. That’s the difference.

****ful umpiring both ways so far. It’d be great to watch a game and not notice the umpires impacting the game for once.

Fritta is a disgusting kick for goal

This guy pretty much cost us a finals spot last year with his kicking.

He's doing it again. He's a brilliant 50 goal per year forward who destroys our momentum and chances with his kicking for goal. Why has this not been fixed during the off season?

So fing angry right now.

Dominated stats whilst looking like we barely had it.

We have to beat the crowd tonight. Saints fans are LOUD.

Jeez King has come on a lot. Giving May a tough time of it.

Well if every time you touch him he gets a free any backman is going to struggle. Which rule was that last free? Blocking apparently when you are bodying up on your man. Can’t chop the arms, can’t hold, now can’t body.

Guess good teams make the most of their opportunities. Fritsch, Brayshaw, etc.

Oliver amazing.

ANB great.

Petracca is 40 percent down on last year.

Langdon's kicking too loopy

Salem good

Haven’t been able to watch the game but FFS are we mentally weak?   So often concede a goal or two just on the siren.

Don’t be silly ! A decent Shiraz is far more valuable

might have been better to put the maid on it and kept the shiraz the way were wasting our chances.

Played reasonably well and should have a better lead to show for it.

Agree on Fritsch, what the f@#k has happened to his goal kicking? Hasn’t been the same the last couple of years.

Well there’s a lot of positives in the way we’re playing, BUT YET AGAIN failing to finish. We should be 15-20 points up right now, but poor kicking for goal and poor decisions at critical moment (plus a dubious at best free to King at the end of the quarter) means we’re basically even.

I don’t know what to do about Fritta, he’s getting into so many great positions but FMD he’s a coach killer with his set shots. I remember we dropped Bugg because he didn’t finish any of his shots, I really like Fritsch but he is killing us with basic misses.

May had a great game last week but credit to the Saints they’re making sure he can’t get free to mark it. He’s been a little hard done by the umpire at the end but other than that King is all over him.

Viney was the star of the quarter, absolutely everywhere. Oliver playing great footy. Petracca kinda going back to old Trac of doing good things but also silly things.

Dont know but these umps certainly are.

I need to talk to someone- about how lame the umpires are.

Smashed them in every stat.  I expect they will change their tactics this Q.  do something about Gawn and the talls down back

King is a major issues for us.  he is a gun and bloody tall

Need something from you Dogga Jackson

Predictable end to Qtr. the difference is one team has space and skills and the other is a middle of the road scrapper. It never changes. Petracca cost us that second goal

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
