Gosh, fancy Elegt, olisik, Dr. D and Pickett2Jackson all posting at the same time again.

You could be forgiven for suspecting they're the one person.  Just another coincidence, I suppose.

Oscar is average.

Can we target Robbie Tarrant for added depth?

Better than Oscar and would come cheap. Would settle nerves regarding depth.

I had a 4 week ban for calling another poster a rude word, so yes I am back posting.

Good conspiracy theory though.

Petty has a lot of potential and I hope we can more games into him but if we're targeting Brown and another wingman (previously Smith) the club is gunning for a premiership with with the list we've got.

Tarrant could fill the void if May or Lever goes down, could Petty or Smith? Unlikely at this stage.

Criticising players is okay. Nothing personal has been said

Just to confirm. I played 8 years at Tooroonga Malvern in the 90s with Barry Trotter, Jamie Cooper and Greg Hamilton. Ex VFL players in the day and the Southern League A level was not for the faint hearted.  The day we beat Collingwood Districts at their ground, including an all in brawl in the last quarter still is a good memory. I was lucky that the Tranq was driving that day and we got out of the car park okay.

anyway back to the thread

Simply Oscar was not good enough. He was given or gifted so many chances but apart from the rare game, he never showed himself capable at AFL standard. Ultimately he never found the extra agility or strength or intensity to be up to AFL standard. So it’s time to move on.  But he wore the red and blue and we wish him the best.

Well said Billy.  Not that your words will daunt then.

I don’t think that there is much wrong with Oscar McDonald. With Roos in charge he would have developed well with all that mindfulness stuff to build his confidence. I think he is a good athlete but lacks confidence because of a variety of things, including injuries. Joel Smith is an incredible athlete and with a good preseason and no more injuries, he can be a very capable player at both ends of the field. Good coaches can bring the best out of players. I think if Goodwin gets help, then both these players could flourish.

was the jack watts of the backline but that's a tad harsh on jack. Oscar never passed the eye test from day 1. His best games were when no-one noticed him because his blunders were usually horrific.

If he leaves, i'll promise to be a completely different poster in 2021. I've been calling for his delisting for 4 years. The Mfc are usually a few years slower than me though.

I think the wish to delist OMac has been held by more supporters than we may realise - terrible coaching/selection/expectation/ignoring of realities. How could this ever happen, for so long, so frequently, so expectedly?

Joel Smith, most certainly but as a forward.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
