My 55+ years of supporting Melbourne, all in one quarter. Stuff me that was gut wrenching. And Jake Leve might have just earned his salary - great last quarter.

Outside of the 2nd quarter you dont want to know. Trust me.

So watching the replay might be a bad idea?

All I heard was Hunt kicked 4, Fritta missed a few but came good and Joel Smith played well on Daniher.

That last part could be wrong, but it's what I heard and read!

Rivers wins it for us again. WHAT A PLAYER! I spilled my coke when Sheil kicked that goal. Usual Melbourne made the easy hard. Fritsch and Hunt played well. Salem, Oliver, Petracca and Gawn excellent.

Good: Brown. He's Pederson mk 2 - not particularly talented, but always gives it everything, and played a blinder today. 13 Marks. Wow.

Bad: Melksham. How he made it through the year without getting dropped is staggering.

Yep. Brown should have been in long time ago.

Heave ho away we go. We are the Freo dockers

An Andy Brayshaw kick for a Hogan mark and goal post siren would be lovely.

For the win obviously. Not just like for a random useless goal.

A good 30% performance. As always. Fall apart under pressure.

Melksham this season averaging around 50 in Supercoach, less than 10 disposals and less than a goal a game.

That's pretty much today, for 17 games.

Shocker.

As t. Uranus said;

Well, we won.

Only played one good quarter but, to be fair, it was a good quarter.

As bad as the fourth quarter was, our core players stood up in the final 5 minutes to get the last two steadying goals.

Really impressed with Hunt's game, 4 goals a good reward. Gawn, Oliver, Salem, Petracca and Langdon all played really well. Weideman's stats won't show it but I thought his workrate was good and he created opportunities for us

Just watch the 2nd ...it was a ripper.

If we make the 8, we deserve to play finals.

If we miss, we don't.

Why do the Dogs deserve it any more than we do if they lose to Fremantle and finish the season with a worse record than us?

Carlton finished 9th in 2013 and still beat Richmond who finished 5th. Then nearly won the semi final the following week. You never know.

Both Melksham and T Mac signed until the end of 2022 on decent money

Not looking great in hindsight

Up there with the Goodwin 4 year signing and Tomlinson for 4 years @ $500K ?

If someone posts Smith kept Daniher goalless.... I'll lose it!

Why would anyone post that? He wasn't on Daniher.

He gave up 3 goals to Stewart. And gave up a shocking handball turnover in the middle of the ground, and otherwise gave us nothing. Was just a bad game from someone who shouldn't be playing IMO.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
