It is what it is people. All we can do is beat the Bombers by even a point and wait for Sunday to see if Freo can give us a miracle. Yes I would be happy to play the Eagles in Perth. At least we are in a final and anything can happen on the day. Before that we need to win and Freo to win. Go Dees and Dockers.

If by some miracle we make the finals. Playing eagles in Perth will be the perfect opportunity for redemption. They are also very vulnerable at the moment.

Has anyone considered the possibility that making the finals could be a bad long-term result for us?

I have?

Even in the unlikely event that the Dogs lose, do we really want to play the Eagles in Perth? Not me.

Surely it couldn't be worse than the prelim disaster.....actually??

Pity that the standard by,  and including the AFL's pin up, nine GF's  experience umpires didn't rise to expectation in last night's performance, Saints against GWS.

Am not aware of the stats here but it was disgraceful.

The preconception that the Saints was the desired winner was palpable, even if GWS played deplorably.

Coming into the Finals for a competition, having it exclaimed by their own Media that there are virtually NO RULES was staggering.....

less likely, the quarters are much shorter, less scoring time and less likely for a blow out   :)

Adelaide against Richmond........top game, play on game. Who would have thought you could have a game between the top side and the bottom side where free kicks could be paid without slowing the game down, but this is one.

The thing is, it took until the last round of the year to realise it.

Loved the fact that they paid marks, are starting to pay  kicking less than 15, but still need to be aware of kicking in danger....

Hope next season we have no kicking backwards in the last five minutes of every game played.

Ironic.

In 2005, Doggies beat Pies in round 23 and took our place in the top 8.

We needed to beat Essendon to make it. During the match the camera kept cutting to Bulldogs players watching the game and subsequently being devastated as we got over the line and pinched their spot in the finals by one game.

Fast forward 15 years. We beat Essendon for a spot in the top 8, replacing the Bulldogs.

Except this time the Dogs have the chance to leapfrog us and make finals with a win over Freo. Do so and they pinch our spot in the top 8 by one game.

Richmond flew to Adelaide yesterday. Yet we were not allowed. HQ are totally corrupt.

We did. I was there.

Would love to know why the Dogs (hubbbing in Gold Coast) were to allowed to travel to Cairns the day before while Melbourne had to basically swim the English channel to get to the game on game day for an earlier starting match.

I expect Brisbane to win comfortably against carlton.

On a side note you know the best thing about covid this footy season. It stuffed up essendons plans to celebrate there 20 year reunion and it stuffed up collingwoods plans to celebrate there 10 year reunion.

Yeah but it stuffed up our 56 year reunion

AFL new love child? Some of these umpiring decisions are bewildering at the least

Glad Carltank got Jack Martin. Guy plays a non existent brand of footy that's less than bruise free. How much did he cost them.

Brisbane Lions player Oscar McInerney gut punches Walsh (Carlton) after a contest.

Luke Darcy : “Not much in that”

James Brayshaw: “It’s a big mans prerogative” (WTF does that even mean)

Channel 7 should be embarrassed that this is their commentators response to that punch.

Walters out nearly seals our fate. Unless Hogan fires up, Freo have no firepower to kick a winning score.

Guess we look to 2021. Ugh.

Wayne Carey's eyebrows have their own postcode. Did anyone see that??

Taberner goes alright.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
