Shocking team selections.

ANB and Melksham stay in after having 0 influence on the scoreboard and also defensive pressure.

Hibbered missing after ankle soreness. There was whispers before the game last week he would potentially miss due to his ankle. They play him on Walter's and he kicks 3 goals and wins them the game. We had a fit Lockhart and Jetta ready to go.

Hope we get absolutely smashed.

Agree with all of that except the last sentence

Must have played a blinder in a scratch match somewhere in last few days. Got me beat. We have a shocking/pathetic forward line HOWEVER we have played well at the Gabba so there is some hope, maybe.

There forward line will smash us in the air. And when it hits the ground Green will beat us. Not confident. Im sure Goodwin is throwing darts at selection. He has no idea who our best 22 are

How the hell does ANB get a game. It is a joke of a side.

They have made 8 changes and not many sides win when making 8 changes but GWS will put that to the sword on saturday. Pile up your fridge and get ready for the Goodwin thread.

Changes are very beige granted they probably right some things that didn’t work last time.

Gee TMac is on the outer. Hoping Nev can show them what it means to play every game like its your last.

ANB you can forgive being first game back, Melky.... not so much even with the  tagged role he played last week.

Yep and I’m going to the game so that will be fun.

I know I’m lucky to be able to go to a game by bloody hell its the first time in a long time I’m not looking forward to it or excited to be going.

Sad but true.

That was ANB 2nd game in a row.

It is obvious to me that he is injured.

Sorry Dazzling I have blocked out the previous week... Yeap he’s very lucky.

Unless Harley is injured you’d think they should get him some more game time this season ahead of the ANBs.

Dropping Preuss and Bedford is the right call.

Replacing Preuss with Brown rather than TMac is justifiable but questionable. Have to query where TMac is at.

Replacing Bedford with Spargo is fair enough, it's not like Hannan was in any better form when he was in the side.

I love Neville and am glad to see him back but there is no reasonable way he should be in front of Lockhart based on 2020 output. It doesn't make sense for us to be naming Lockhart as an emergency if he's injured or unfit. I do not understand the Lockhart omission and continue to disagree with it.

I'm happy with the selections. It's not an inspiring lineup but the players currently out of the team were all given chances and didn't perform. Swapping all of our forwards every week doesn't help anyone, so I'm glad to see slightly more continuity.

I envy you for being able to go demonox. Even if there are games here next year I doubt we will be able to go.

Smith and ANB given games makes my blood boil. Jetta should have played last week in the wet conditions. Selection is a joke and has been all season.

He has to have some sort of injury.

Does Nev go to Greene 'titan'??? he's got the physical strength and game smarts, Greene is not lightning.

Surely we wouldn't play Hunt or Salem on him.

Maybe Smith but I hope not.

Half a dozen coldies before the game might help.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
