I can't think of any. He's been great a big reason why we have moved up the ladder.

Hes given us something we have lacked for years - a gut runner with speed in the midfield.

Hes been a great pickup but unfortunately he also bought poor kicking with him.  Someone get in his ear about that ball drop.

Very impressed with Langdon, his kicking a little iffy but they knew that when the traded for him.

His running and involvement has been fantastic recently.

Early signs but looks like Footy Department had a good year bringing in the Trades/Draftees

Loving what Langdon brings to the side.  He runs both ways and I think the team as a whole are beginning to work out how to play through him better.

I wouldn't say he is the recruit of the year.  I think Dan Butler has that sewn up at the moment.

he'd be in the top five, you'd think

dan butler, jack martin, grant birchall, tim kelly all fairly handy for their sides

unbelievable that the aints got butler for nothing - pick 56 which richmond didn't use at the draft!

Love what Langdon brings, but butler probably best recruit so far.

I've heard Tom Phillips may be gettable. Imagine him on the other wing....

I was watching him last night and he pops up all over the place, gets plenty of it and team are starting to use him more each game, absolutely love his endeavor and ability to bounce back up.?

Great two-way runner.  He can kick as well, just needs that confidence to come up a bit, and get more comfortable in the team and he will start hitting up targets a bit better.  Really encouraged by his play.  Love the way he plays super wide and can stretch and open up the middle of the field.  Invaluable player for us.

Zac Williams would be a great get. Plays more half back but I'm sure he could play on the wing.

Rate the pickup. Got him at a good price too in only a second rounder. Just need an equivalent player (with a great kick) on the opposite wing now, too.

Yeah I’ve thought that too. But they don’t rate his defensive stuff & running enough for even the forward line, let alone the wing. Hopefully in the future, though.

Sam Frost.

I've been really happy with how Langdon is progressing. How long has it been since we've had a proper winger running up and down the ground?

Obviously, yes, his disposal isn't great, but I've noticed that if his kicks don't hit their target, they at least have a knack of finding players in space. Just needs to start nailing some of those goals he's been missing this season and he'll be right there as recruit of the year.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, I checked Langdon's AFL stats page and believe it or not, he's actually tracking pretty close to 80% disposal efficiency this season!

Its all about 2021 for Bennell.  Whatever he does this season is a bonus.

I'd have to give it to Dan Butler, but Langdon has been a great pick up and would deserve a 2nd placing.

Has cleaned up his disposal in the last few weeks to go along with his two way running and speed which has been pleasing to see.

From the hawthorn board.

"As I said in another thread, he could've turned our season around. Him taking the game on has shown the rest of the group what needs to be done.
Fantastic get for what we paid. Has a massive future at the HFC."

Seems to be universally liked there.

Might just go to show how [censored] Hawthorn’s list is when Frost is your boom recruit. He’s a decent defender and has rare pace for a guy that size but the turnovers and decision making were just bad and killed us most games.

Tim Kelly for quality, Dan Butler for value.

Nonetheless, Langdon has brought us much-needed outside run.

Good call Werridee.  19 uncontested possessions last night, 82% efficiency.  what we have been crying out for, for years.

Everyone talks about his poor disposal but while he is not elite his disposal is good.  he knows his limitations. Has pace and great intensity and tackling.  will only get better when the team get used to looking up and wide and knowing he will be free

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
