less game time is definitely keeping things exciting for longer, and there's been some cracking games - gimme a close game over a blowout any day (unless it's us doing the blowing out!)

if witherden really is available i would hope we'd be keen

mcluggage is a gun; amazing that mcgrath and taranto went ahead of him; both good players but mcluggage is a pearler

Didn't get a chance to watch the Tiges/Port game but listened to a fair bit of it.  Sounded like it was a cracker of a match.

But how would have our team have measured up against either team?

At our best, we might have challenged Richmond.

We would have lost easily to both teams.

I think Port played far better last night than versus us.

We don’t have the ability to maintain intensity and focus for a whole game like Richmond and Port did. I think we would have given up an classic 4-5 goal early lead and maybe come out even for the remainder of the match.

Think both teams beat us by 5 goals + on last nights performance

If Port had kicked straight would have been an easy win for them. It looks to me that Richmond is beatable. Got back in the game 3 free kicks for goals shouldnt have been a close game

Agree... media are talking up the game which I suppose can be justified in the lead swings but really Port should have won by ten goals.

Hardwick's coaching was nothing spectacular. Should have slowed down the game and used his key forwards better. The fast game favours Martin so I suppose it's a trade off issue

West Coast are playing like they just had to show up for the points. They are paying the price for it so will wait and see what happens after 1/2 time.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
