He started in the centre and had 1 possession to halftime I think.

He started on ball. At the opening bounce he was in the middle.

He did nothing the entire first half.

So he didn't get a touch at the opening bounce...you think he was in the midfield for the entire first half?

I reckon we started to get the mix right as the game went on.

Brayshaw is an integral part of that mix if we're going to be successful.

6. Clarrie - back yourself son and you will be elite as shown tonight

5. May - awesome down back never looked in trouble

4. Viney - set the tone in the first and was good throughout

3. Lever - along with May controlled the backhalf although some strange decisions to punch when he could have marked but very good overall

2. Trac - nearly set the game alight on several occasions and showed some real class at times

1. Weid/Jacko - loved their work together in bringing the ball to ground and second efforts at ground level

The response was in relation to the earlier post, which was wildly wrong and impugned the coaching group, not a comment on the efficacy of Brayshaw.

There's a lot of premature love (and hope) for Jackson!

I agree with the sentiment of the earlier post.

I don't think the coaching group have handled him well at all.

I think we have had the mix in the midfield all wrong.

Tonight was better but as a group they can work a lot better yet.

There's good reason for that 'Fanatique'...he's a beauty.

Yeah the sentiment was good, it just reeked of ignorance factually.

Unbelievable game by Oliver - it was everything we had been hoping for since his debut and shows that both he and Goody have finally understood what so many have said on DL and other places. That was the most elite game we have seen by anybody at this club for a long, long time.

Closely followed by Lever. Brayshaw gets the Encouragement Award. His last quarter was vintage and hopefully he can continue on from there.

Apologies to Lever.

Salem was ok but not in my best.  He still didn’t use the footy to a huge advantage. 15 metre kicks are soft targets for a bloke with his talent. He can lift and show us what he is really capable of.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
