    Take the pressure off TMac and free him up around the ground.  Hopefully can build some confidence and get a few touchesz

    I'd play Pedo, it makes us less predictable and with Pedo playing every game as if it's his last will show the boys how it's done. Peace

    I don’t think TMac can jump or really move much anymore. I’d give that role to Weid, he needs to get himself involved more. Hopefully he can get his hands on a few and make a contest around the ground with Gawn out.

    If Preuss is available for selection then surely this is his time. What's the point in having him if he doesn't play when Gawn's unavailable? If he's not available for selection though, then I'm not sure what we do. TMac was hopeless and should be dropped. I'm not sure he's fit enough to ruck. Maybe Tomlinson gets the spot? 

    We haven't won clearances in the last two weeks I believe so it could hardly be worse.

    If Preuss is in the Hub and fit play him. Why not his back up would be TMac and it could  be what brings him into some confidence and form.

    I think Tomlinson is due to come back as he has been on standby for the last couple of games . Freshened up after a short spell and he will be looking  forward for some action. At the least he is a goer.

    Save Max for the Grundy match up as it might be one of our important matches that   ( as l say it with hope )....... decide a place for the finals.  I am keeping the faith.

    loved me some of the #pedomyths. He was a lion hearted player who gave his all every game. I'd easily have in the current side over fumble jumble in Tom McDonald.

    Earlier today Crows were $2.85 on Sportsbet. Gawn in doubt revealed later and now Crows $3.10!, What just happened here???

    It's funny how quickly you can look structured when your mids and forwards bring pressure and you can move the ball quickly.

    I don't know mate. I don't know how many teams have had the four-day break so far. Finding it hard to watch. It's obvious everyone wants to be grumpy at the MFC. And I've made it clear I'm upset with the AFL scheduling and don't think the condensed rounds are cool at all. I'm still annoyed with our series of six-day breaks and travel and accumulation of injuries in the back half of 2017. 

    But in saying that I also think it's too simplistic to look at the number of soft-tissue injuries across the league as a measure. Some players are more susceptible than others. Gawn has had soft-tissue issues before. The AFL has increased the risk to those players. It's okay to say toughen up but football isn't the EPL or NBA. The players also don't have the regular experience of backing up from short breaks.

    I love your posting mate, but I feel like a single (potential) injury to Gawn is a cop out for our ordinary showing. Okay, the Port game may not be emblematic of the rest of our season, I certainly hope not, but at the moment, we haven't got the job done this year and it has less to do with fixturing and more to do with coaching and decision making IMO.

    If I remember correctly Bartlett has said there are NO excuses this season. 
     
    The way the crows have played this season our reserve side SHOULD beat them so with Gawn missing through injury it shouldn’t be used as an excuse. 
     

    This is a game I can see us losing as the players look terribly dispirited during the PA game similar to when a coach loses the players but time will tell.

      A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder.       What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around.It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
