If fit, one of the first picked.

Based on what? I'm not having a go, and I don't necessarily disagree, importantly neither does Goodwin.

Does TMac play a role that helps this team win?

I think it'll be TMac for Jackson.

Probably best if Harris Andrews isn't playing on Weid or Jackson.

Out: Brayshaw

In: Jones

Gus’s disposal was absolutely putrid today and he had bugger all of it.

Jones wins it and uses it well and Brayshaw needs a rocket

Brisbane have a lot of talls at both ends.

Id be tempted to play TMac, Weid and LJ, which is pretty consistent with most teams.

Big fan of Lockhart, but he’s not quite right since the restart. I’d be tempted to bring back Rivers or Jones.

I agree. Why can’t we play 3 tall forwards? They are all pretty mobile and athletic.

Jackson rucking, means a better performance out of Weid spending 100% of time forward.. no change

Don’t think you can drop Jackson after today. Started to realise he can get his hands on them so won’t be long until they start to stick. Really like the look of him.

Joel Smith could be a good matchup for Charlie Cameron. He kept Danger quiet when down forward and quick enough to stay with Cameron on the ground. Lockhart would be the unlucky one to go.

T Mac in if fit for Jackson

Interesting to see a lot of people want Lockhart out, I can't see another match up for Charlie Cameron.  I think he might be a little quick for Nev, so I'd start Lockhart on him and have Nev in my back pocket if that fails.

No change for me.

Melksham rested, TMac in

Lockhart is the only one I’d drop from that side for either Jones or Tomlinson .

Its a really hard call to drop Jackson for TMac because Jacko was very good today.

No way Smith gets a spot. The only change down back should be Lockhart for Rivers.

I think you need Lockhart next week. They’ve got plenty of smalls who can get off the leash (Berry, Cameron et al) so you’re not dropping your quickest lock-down player.

Jackson in allowed Max to drop behind the ball which tactically worked today. They might want to go down that route again next week. Also remember Brisbane play 2x legit ruckmen .

My tip is they’ll go unchanged and give Tom another week off (with goody saying ‘it is a sensitive area so we’re going to be cautious’).

You got it.

One reason I want Jackson to keep his spot is that, by having him in the side, it allowed Gawn to rest a kick behind the play and do plenty of damage from there.  Jackson rucked most of the time when the ball was in the forward half and did a decent enough job, while also having an impact when the ball hit the deck.  It's the perfect mix.

I hope that we keep him in the side, but it does make things interesting in trying to fit Tom Mac back in there as well.  Not sure how we do that at the minute.

Agree on all three point J6. Lockhart has  not got much of it last two weeks but love his gut running to cover outlet marks and his tackling intensity. Just needs to chill a bit and make the most of his touches.

By the by had not registered you posting name or avatar. Love it. Respect.

Melk played his best game this season today red. Can't see them dropping him.

Can see them giving tmac 'another week to get 100% right"

How do you fight your way back in? Are they playing scrimmage matches?

Scratch matches against other clubs (although I’m not entirely sure one was played this week). Other than that he’ll have to put in some dominant days on the track.

Tmac I'm, VDB rested.

Tmac can play his role and also provides the flexibility of giving us a tall back or tall forward option.

How will Tomlinson add to our winning team? Who plays Lockhart's role?

Please get your facts right. Brayshaws disposal was no worse than some others. He is the player who sees options and creates option. (no player has 100% DE especially when he is trying to take the game on rather than playing conservative football). He has ability to dispose on both sides of his body which is a rare skill in today's football. He is also a very competitive midfielder. Viney's disposal often leaves us exposed, but he brings other aspects to the table. Pickett only had 6 disposals today and no tackles yet some are lauding him . I think he was good also and once he learns to tackle he will be bloody brilliant. No player is perfect.

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
