Seems hard to talk about after such a good win but does TMac get back?

For me no change, tell Jackson it's he's spot to lose now.

Like others I’d really like to see Tom fight his way back in. LJ played well and looks like he could pull out a cracker of a game at some stage (couple of his marks still aren’t quite sticking), Tom wasn’t in good form prior to his eye injury so I’d like to see them make him play at least one strong game in a scratch match to force his way.

No change for me.

Jones in for Lockhart, still not convinced about Melksham.

Agreed, my original post questioned Lockhart, Melksham and Brayshaw but thought it was a bit controversial.

I think those blokes get dropped from a losing team but while we're winning let them go.

How do you fight your way back in? Are they playing scrimmage matches?

Jones in for Lockhart. Lockhart is ok, but when he makes a blunder it seems always to result in a opposition score. Brisbane are very good at keeping the ball locked in their forward half of the ground. Jones' steady head could be required in defence.

Lockhart, Jackson, Brayshaw -> Rivers, TMac, Jones

Jackson shows plenty of promise, but I still think that TMac currently offers more. Lockhart and Brayshaw have had two poor games in a row, and considering the fixture squeeze that's going to be coming up, I think it's important to keep players fresh. Vandenberg on notice, Tomlinson a possibility to replace.

Lions defenders are in elite form, Harris Andrews does not get beaten much.. its next level next week. T-Mac might be a good option just on experience.

With a lot of games to probably be played in a short period of time plus our extra game ...a lot of our  surplus players will definitely be played as we manage players & their loads. We have a healthy list but we will definitely be changing our 22 over the next few weeks. Pretty confident that if our main core  stays healthy we will still improve & develop ...

Thats true.  Forgot about the games being so close together plus our game vs Essendon still to come.

In that case there will likely be a couple of changes vs Brizzy,  gotta take the travel into account to.

Of course TMac will play if he is fit. I would suggest LJ whilst very promising today will make way. Personally I would play LJ and drop Melksham who unless I am missing the negating role he is in for is offering little except the occasional goal and assist. Lockhart’s lack of defensive drive and Brayshaw and Vanders shonky kicking are a concern but shouldn’t lose their spot as we win and try and get continuity.

Brisbane have a lot of talls at both ends.

Id be tempted to play TMac, Weid and LJ, which is pretty consistent with most teams.

Big fan of Lockhart, but he’s not quite right since the restart. I’d be tempted to bring back Rivers or Jones.

Even if Jones plays down back (which he won't because he is too slow) he would play a different role to Lockhart who is playing the lock down / nullify / tag role.

Lockharts absolute commitment to the contest around the ground, hard two way running and throwing himself in and on any thing he can was fantastic.

I think he'll get the first chance on Charlie Cameron next week, with Jetta being a bit more free.

VDB was our "worst on" today but even he wasn't that bad. The options to replace him are Hunt, Spargo, Tomlinson so I think he gets another few weeks.

TMac should be "best 22". But on form he isn't. Statistically and in impact,  Jackon had a better game today than TMac has had all year. Given Goodwins reluctance to play 2 KPFs, I can't see him now playing 3, unless he employs TMac as a fulltime wing (the Tomlinson role).

For me, no change unless forced.

Oliver has got to be dropped. His ball use is terrible.

Just kidding, but those suggesting Oliver should've been dropped please ban yourselves from match committee selection discussion for a few weeks.

Brayshaw out, sparrow in

I'm a big rap for Sparrow, but can't see this happening at the moment.

IN: Rivers

OUT: Lockhart

But quite possibly no change.

vB and Brayshaw both need to improve their disposal though, will hurt us more against good teams.

Are u seriously suggesting they will make three changes after that win?  Give us a break!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
