Makes beating Hawthorn all the more critical given GWS at Giants Stadium is a formidable task the week after -  although hopefully we may 'host' them at the SCG.

If the current NSW Covid cluster takes off, things are going to get tricky for the NSW hub. This flexibility the AFL talk about might soon have to be acrobatic.

Given that there are now night games Thursday to Monday inclusive is it too much for our sponsors to expect some night time FTA cover.

Another Sunday afternoon game I think against the Hawks... grrrrrr

Although the Sydney numbers are small one more week of similar numbers and Qld will slam the gates. (It's an election year up there.)

I'm maintained that if NSW can't host footy due to COVID, she's all over. Surely a bridge too far??

The AFL will no doubt be panicking about the rise in cases each day.

The AFL won't cancel the season until all states are in lockdown and also Manus /Christmas islands are ruled out

DJ this is easy we are a póorly performed club with low supporters numbers. Our only chance is when we play a high number club like Collingwood or Essendon. Honestly we don't deserve a night game.

Surely if it’s our home game Brisbane should at least play us in Sydney.  What a joke to play them on the GC.  Brisbane are being handed the softest draw

5 out of the 9 games are now night games. No matter how bad we are there are enough to go around.

Seriously a night time win over the Hawks would be great for our future prospects. The next two against Sydney and GWS will probably be low rating fixtures win lose or draw

PS.... I see we got Brisbane in a 6pm Sunday game... at least that's a start

Brisbane at Metricon..

Some teams were always going to benefit greatly from this mess of a season, and Brisbane are well and truly ahead of the pack in that regard.

Going to be nigh on impossible for any Melbourne teams to make the GF  or even top 4 at this rate.

Why not in Sydney if our home game? There is no other game in Sydney that day so can’t be a clash issue. Not only do we have to jump on a plane to play our home game in their state but we have to go and play them in greasy dusk/early evening conditions (which they are used to). Baffling.

Agree. Meanwhile Essendon who continue to get kissed on the [censored] with this years fixture are off to Adelaide to play the crows... AFL's pet team.

I would say the AFL might be reading the tea leaves and ditching NSW as a hub option due to increased cases??

Yes absolute Joke. I’d love to have Essendon’s draw thus far. Anyone would think they finished 17th last year. Doing all they can for them the AFL.

That's alright. 6pm start means we won't cop the dew we would if it was a true night game. Metricon looks in good Nick too

Am I right to assume we will then be in a QLD hub? If so not bad either. Nice and warm. Perhaps they could use the facilities, ground etc they use for their camp. A good group of dees fans up there too to cheer the boys on.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
