WTF?

Was our game cancelled for nothing?

From one of the reports about this:

'It’s also possible low levels of coronavirus in his previous tests, followed by a negative test, suggest McKenna was in the final stages of the virus."

Not sure if this makes things better or worse tbh.

This just stinks of a cover up... And of course it's Essendon at the thick of it.

Or it could be [censored], and this is just an easy way to get the heat off Essendon and allow the AFL to press on with fixturing and keep the broadcasters & West Coast happy.

Lots of problems have now gone away.

Watch McKenna/Stewart have 14 days off anyway for "general soreness"

What an absolute joke, so the only club to have been affected by this is the MFC

Another AFL and Essendon cover up

Corrupt bloody drug cheats!!

Im incredibly angry that the media doesnt GAF about our situation of missing playing pretty much our best side. All i hear is how lucky we were not to play Essendon.

Was Connor positive a false positive? Wednesday test was a the irregular  not a positive, Friday test is a positive, by Tuesday he is negative he has had covid19 for  1 week, I would have thought he was tested the Wednesday before, it was negative, this question has to be investigated, I bet it won't, to hide the truth.

Essendon doctors be like:

hang on, negative is a good thing??!!

So many plot lines! So what's your version of the truth?

Are they 100% positive that his initial positive test was actually negative or are they saying his negative test was a false positive and actually negative?

Perhaps his first two tests were negatives, hence the conclusion that he was positive?

Edit: Beat me to it, this was my next post (you know what they say..):

Maybe when he was tested twice in 24 hours and they came back as negative and negative they assumed it equaled positive? 48Kgy9uYmeJ_ZJcaWogtYnHi_ess49P0CT4CLjit

No - the next thing that happens is that they’ll play it down or deny it altogether. They won’t be punished because it would be a bad look for the AFL so expect a whitewash.

...and magically he’s negative.

What happens next Nostradamus?

The truth is there is no virus, or very week, in Victoria there are 127 active cases, only a hand full are in hospital, and only 2 in ICU,

I work in abattoirs, person at my work knows many at Cedar meats, out of all the postive test, no one went to hospital, no one had more then a small cold, we live in a nanny state. Say goodbye to freedom, this is the start of the nanny state, they are setting the bar low for lockdowns, be prepared for lockdown every few years, flu kill way more then 100 people every year, so are we going to lockdown always because you might get the flu, and someone else might get it, you are a killer.  Over 7400 cases only 100 death, average age 77, sorry to say people die, the price to pay  to save everyone is your freedom

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
