Gawn was dominant but surely Trac has to get the 3 votes this week. Traditionally I don’t think Max polls massively in the Brownlow.

Gawn simply has to get the 3 votes for that game.

Shane Crawford just came out and said that he believes Petracca is currently the best player in the league.

I love Tracc but he isn't the best player in the game.  At least not yet. He probably isn't the best player at his club, although I'm looking forward to being proved wrong in about 12 weeks time.

20 votes in 2018 and 17 last season ( in a side that won 5 games and he missed one of those).  Gawn polls well and has been outstanding this season too.  Before this round was 3rd in the Age Player of the year and had polled votes in three of 5 games in the Herald Sun.  Before this round Tracc is on 20 in the AFLCA award, Gawn on 17.  They were clearly the two outstanding players on the ground today so should poll an 8 and a 10 or two 9's. And both still have a game in hand over all but Essendon. I doubt either will win the Brownlow but I'd be staggered if they both don't poll well.

I stand corrected!

I don’t know about best player in the game at the moment but I can confidently say if we were told we could trade him for anyone in the league I would still say no.

If he continues to play like the way he did today he’ll be in the conversation with Fyfe, Dusty, Neale, Cripps, Bont etc as the best players in the comp.

If Oliver can improve on his kicking we could be looking at having 3 top 10 players.

True. And we had better bloody have a flag to show for it.

So so so important we keep these guys together at the club, they all seem like good mates aswell, we are blessed to have them at the Dees just as long as they have that drive to make each other better.

Might be jumping the gun to say #1 but Petracca is in excellent form. His kick to Weideman from 50 to pinpoint him in the square was elite. His running and power were a great combination.  He was in contests and would burst clear. Dangerfield like confidence right now.He outmatches Sicily who has had a great year himself but looked 2nd rate v Trac.  Then Tracs goal from just outside 50. Wow.

Trac needs to continue being smart.  Mitch Robinson gets him in the tag this week and he’s taken some scalps. Tracs teammates will need to watch out for him. Trac still needs to back up from the man on the mark a little more. But otherwise a very A grade level right now.

8 Brownlow votes so far imo.

Big call from Crawf but right now on form he's clearly gone past Dusty, but now needs to do it consistently for years to get to that Dusty/Danger/Fyfe level.

Hoping he can maintain it, he's very exciting to watch (and I have him at $251 for the Brownlow).

Likely another 3 votes for the Trac last night.

Neale may have an unassailable lead but you never know how the umpires see things.

Yeah Neale, Dusty would be in front of him, Steele for Saint around the mark too

Let's pump the breaks.  We've had Farmer, Neitz, Woewodin actually won a brownlow (Petracca has been good for half a shortened season), Lyon, Aaron Davey, Schwartz, etc.

Farmer was one of the greatest forwards to have ever lived and kicked what was it 9 in a half? So nah, he has a while to go yet. He is on par with Oliver for mine.

Oliver and Trac are on another level to all those guys.   Lyon would be the closest.

Woewodin, Schwarz and Davey combined  for a grand total of 0 All Australian selections.

Trac is definitely on the upward trajectory to being Elite. My kids get excited when he bursts into forward 50 and nails the goal.

In my 45 years of supporting the Dees, Robbie Flower remains the best player that I’ve seen in a red and blue jumper.

If I could choose one player in the comp to start a new team right now, Trac is the one.

The way he extracts it from congestion and seemingly can't be stopped is a sight to behold.

It's only a matter of time before he kicks a bag and really tears a game apart.

Don't remember Robbie I was too young when he was in his prime...the Ox was the next that springs to mind before his knees gave way. Trac is ridiculous some of the things he can do on a football field, he appears untouchable: his next challenge is to do it against the best teams and not simply beat up on the strugglers.

Yeah, nah.

Schwarz before he did his knee was a freak.  Probably the only two things that stopped him being AA was a bloke known as The Duck who was apparently a fair player having his position pretty much stitched up and a dodgy knee.

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving what Patracca is becoming at the moment.  It seems that he is finally delivering on the promise of the player we had all hoped he would be and a player truely befitting of a number one pick.  But for me Trac still needs to deliver consistently over the course of one or two seasons and in big games for me to say he's clearly better than all those you have mentioned.  Really need guys like Trac and Clarry to stand up against quality opposition and win it almost off their own boot.  Both of them either went missing or were in effective witg their disposal against Port and Richmond.

I think both Clarry and Trac have it in them, but they still need to actually do it.
