Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jurrah’s Journey

Such mixed feelings watching those highlights.

He easily could have been our best ever. I forgot how good he was through traffic too.

I had the privilege of being part of some workshops focussed on water and first nations people last year.

I met Liam's Aunty and Uncle. The Walpiri elders have a sacred waterhole in the desert. When the conditions are right (they can tell from how the hawks and eagles are gliding), they burn the bush which creates the clouds to bring the rain. Pretty amazing.

Anyways, they said that Liam was going really well these days and back playing his footy and loving it. So good to hear.

Does anyone up that way get to still see him play?

Liam Jurrah ... what could have been!

Can’t help thinking his name would have been on that best/ favourite thread if things had turned out differently

Unfortunately BBO we are covered in what could have been's/maybe's/if only's etc and Jurray is one of the many.

Jurrah....Schwartz....Jakovich.......as Docs said: what could have been/maybe/if only.

Yet these are the most insanely talented players that I have seen at the club in the past 40 odd years.  Blazing comets that shone brightly, but not for long enough.

Amazing that Jurrah would never have seen an AFL game if it wasn't for the work of the Collingwood Industrial Magpies and Rupert Batheras.

Of all the 'couldabeens' that we've had at MFC, Jurrah is the one that hurts the most. Schwartz would have been a gun CHF, but we've seen plenty of similar players (just not at MFC!)

Jurrah could dominate in the air like Goodes, crumb like Betts and do the freakish like Buddy. He was a truly unique player. Such a shame we only ever got a glimpse of what he could do!

Great. He'd still get a game at the Dees ... train him hard, watch him star.

More God given talent than anyone who I have ever seen play our great game, anywhere. Yes, including Robbie and Jako.

Was at one with the trajectory of the ball and had the touch to take possession and release to advantage.

Watched him win the exhibition game in Shanghai in 2010. No one else could have done it so effortlessly.

Our great game weeps that he was lost so early.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
