I'd suggest you should also add in some inept MFC boards over the years as well.  You can't just blame one factor,... It's a whole host of factors.  Our current administration is, from what it would appear, attempting to prioritise finding a base. They are just doing it in a climate where securing the funding is harder than to secure.

Bet you never gave your kids $20 to spend without some strong reason or need to purchase or justify.

Are you surprised that Govt’s work in exactly the same way. Stop whinging about no funding when there is no reason to need it yet. The process has just started and once it’s worked into a fully developed plan for the area then specific costs can be allocated from stakeholders.

I have no idea what you are even talking about?

If we are unable to play practice matches there with spectators, I see the Caulfield idea as a bust. Whilst not opposed to keeping the Casey connection, I think we need to have a training facility that is open to the public, and capable of hosting some preseason games. Agree that AFLW should remain at Casey and play some home games at Princes Park. The venue ought to be able to host family days and the like

No, I was doing the exact opposite! 

I was responding to Demonsone who was the one complaining about how the AFL is throwing cash at Tassie's base.

Only thing I'll admit to saying is that I don't think previous administrations haven't been that great at prioritising our home base, but thats not exactly a contentious comment. I also didn't bemoan anything about lack of funding. You need to read comments, context and WHO actually wrote the words before blowing up. 🙄

I took my last bag of yabbies from there in about 1964.   Took them home put them in a large plastic bucket and was going to cook them the following afternoon.

they must have known cos they were all gone in the morning

Caulfield has already ticked one of those boxes. Hopefully it can do it again………and soon.

Would cost dollars but with the technology and engineering now of movable stands at Marvel and moveable playing surfaces eg Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas I don’t see why you can’t have a moveable stand on the inside of the racetrack for premium race meetings that moves to the football field to enable the ability to host AFLW games at Caulfield. Might be a stretch hosting AFL practice games would depend on the height of stands allowed to boost capacity.Agree that we should keep Casey for the club to use. Despite its geographical location it is a good facility and we need to have a presence out there as it is the base of our Next Generation Academy and zone (FWIW). Don’t agree that we should be playing home AFLW games at IKon purely and simply because it’s not our ground. I would argue that if we played both our finals at Casey this year we would have one at least one of them.

The government should claw the money back from the pies. Grant agreements usually have a clause to do so if money hasn’t been spent as agreed.

Well well well what a surprise this is.

What a shell game, all this siphoning of money for women's teams/junior teams/dog walkers/locals who want electric BBQs, etc. When the whole time it's going to facilities for the men's team.

Dogs, Blues, Pies ... most Vic clubs seem adept at playing the game and pretending to tick all the right boxes. Apart from the Cats who don't need to do a thing except point out what a marginal seat they're in. And of course the Might Demons who don't even seem to realise there's a game involved and play a straight bat as if the whole thing is awarded on merit.

"What ... us? Oh no! We want the money ... I mean, the community wants the money for better facilities for the womens' teams ... and junior soccer teams ... and we'll plant a few trees to save the planet while we're at it ... have an off leash area to placate, I mean, enhance the experience for local residents. Us? Why, it never crossed our minds! But now that you mention it, an extra oval the same size as the MCG might be of use to us ... plus a plunge pool, hypoxic tent. grandstand, social club (with bar) ... gee, these things the community are crying out for ... well, we might be able to use them too ...." [*back at the club*] "Yeah, I snowed 'em pretty good. They bought the lot. Sit back and wait for the cheque."
