True, but why would he say being closer to Collingwood FC.  Can't see its relevance.

Surely he’s just specifying which car park it is. He could easily say ‘which is further to the west’.

Shocking, horrendous,  not great plan

Has there been any examination of Fishermans Bend?

There will not move outside the Olympic Park Precinct.

Where abouts in AMMI Park are our existing change rooms and Footy department offices located

Wherever the new training base is, it should be named after Nathan Jones.

I have an overpowering feeling he will be a grand father before we get to that point CB. But yes agree.

The existing rooms are if looking at AAMI are to the right of the building and down the side. The gym, pool and meeting rooms are down that side. I have been told that the feeling is now it is too crowded with Storm and Rebels using the facilities. If the players need to use the pool they have to book it etc. I mean how long have we been using the same facilities together so surely this has been a problem for some time.

I just drove past AAMI and I cannot see how that side is a better option. There is a little bit of land behind the current AAMI building which is used by delivery trucks but to the side definitely a smaller amount of land (currently player parking) compared to the other side.  On the other side you could also definitely scrimp some land where the current pathway/bicycle lane stands.

Can anyone summarise what he had to say about the new facility ?

Yep, that he couldn't talk about the new facility 😂

Effectively said the AFL and Vic Government know we are bottom of the ladder for facilities, but it'll be up to the Vic Government for any further announcements, including whether it gets fast tracked after our win.

This article is about our finals $ windfall.

But this caught my eye:

"The grand final has inspired many of Melbourne’s high wealth supporters...to contact the club asking if they can help.

These rich benefactors are ready to sign large cheques to commit substantial funds to the proposed development of the club’s new facilities off Punt Road around Gosch’s Paddock and AAMI Park.

The plans for the redevelopment...are with the state government awaiting final approval".

Exciting!!

Winners are grinners. And politicians like being associated with them.

About time these wealthy benefactors who barrack for the Demons opened up their wallets!

This is why winning is so important!

If I was a billionaire I would have already had our home base built! But that's why I am not a billionaire! I am too generous!

Anyway, let's hope they build above car park F which makes more sense!

We can be a top club if the AFL always comes to our rescue when we become a joke.....

Lets hope we have learned from our past mistakes and never need this type of help again.

I like the new Melbourne.

Our high nett worth supporters have always given the club more than it has given them.

This story does not surprise me.

This why winning a premiership was so important for our club, even if it's just one, it could transform the club

It's always been an iterative process. Get a bit better off field, and you get better on-field results. Get better on-field and improvements occur on the admin and commercial side. The challenge now is to maximise the benefit off field. In the past we would have wasted much of what was given.

Surely now we can demand the good car park and have facilities overlooking the oval so we can have the club truly united. We can’t train on one side of the stadium and look out over Collingwood. That’s bizarre.

We need the ability to have a coffee or beer watching training. Or for the rehab players to go straight from the gym to the track.

The Storm have bought great disgrace to our state, move their oval around as needed.

We need to have the facility all together so it’s something tangible the way Punt Road and the Holden Centre are.

How long is it going to be called the Holden centre? Holden has left the market, approaching 2 years now.

Now that we have won the 2021 AFL Premiership (and hopefully win more!), I believe that this needs to be the next primary focus for the Melbourne Football Club.

Time to get this Home Base built at car park F and not the ridiculously stupid idea of car park E! I would also like to see a statue of David Neitz and/or Nathan Jones placed at the Home Base. I think it would be quite fitting. Especially as Collingwood have a statue of Lou Richards at the Holden Centre.

Hopefully, this very important matter of the Home Base being built at car park F will be raised at the next Melbourne Football Club AGM, when ever that will be?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
