Well Demonsome we just don’t have an original home ground to just start off. You know that so why blame Gary Pert that we have finally a destination in an inner city area close to our major fan base in the SE suburbs. 

A number of places have been mooted near the MCG over time and ruled out by Govt or local needs already established. In the meantime we have had Casey developed for our AFLW teams and VFL shared for our seconds. 

Where do you think we should have got by now ? 

Are  you happy with Caulfield as it is the middle of a business plan stage after it passed feasibility stage just recently by Local parties involved ?

The facility has fairly strong amenities included for  local sport and participation in the plans not just for us. OD. Please get the facts correct it doesn’t help the case especially when criticism of third parties is inaccurate and ill informed.

they started the process to leave the old and outdated football park in 2013, and explored four different options - most blocked by local council - before getting an agreement in place for thebbie

Demonsone did mention Fishermans Bend Port / Melbourne. I never did see any formal analysis of any development there. Had informal discussion with Kate Roffey and did put formal position to Pert but never received any acknowledgement.

While i support the club and therefore Caulfield and happy to see it proceed it is undoubted that we have lost many opportunities, and perhaps not even pursued many.

i would still like to see the club involve all its membership to progress this matter,. Again i do not see any indication from Pert that this is likely. I hope he now has time and influence to progress Caulfield more quickly than ever.

A new Board may address this issue (a new training admin facility) as a priority and perhaps put some genuine realistic time frames.

You make some valid points. I hope Caulfield is not a pipe dream but it does have some elements.

I was accused of presenting FB/PM sites as a pipe dream in informal talks with Kate Roffey. I made a presentation to G Pert after the last AGM but did not receive any formal acknowledgement, let alone response to my queries.

I still believe we have missed many opportunities, and hope we are not missing more while focusing on Caulfield.

A new Board could begin by setting some time and financial guidelines and targets to ensure we do not have a G Pert retirement guarantee fund. 

Sadly, I think the MCG precinct plan is now not plausible.

That is why we ARE focused on having a Home Base at Caulfield Racecourse.

Hopefully, this will be the main priority (besides winning Premierships) of the Melbourne Football Club Board. We simply cannot be nomads for another 160+ years!

The Barlow group IS airlink. 

According to the MFC Financial Statements the club currently has $9.6 mill in financial assets allocated to the Training and Admin Facility (TAF).  The club is confident that this can be raised to $15 mill.

The capital in the Future Fund will not be used for this purpose but some of the income generated by the FF maybe, until the $15 mill target is reached.

The cost of the feasibility study of $300,000 was totally funded by the state government.
