So therefore we were equal with everyone else for facilities.

We aren’t now, we are last.

Bring back Covid! (and the hubs)

On a serious note, the silence from the club re Caulfield, is concerning

Especially quiet at the AGM

I still reckon Caulfield can be a goer, but the movement towards it is treacle-slow

I suspect the players welcomed the drive along the empty freeway to the relative countryside of Casey while the rest of us were limited to masked trips no more than five kilometres from home.

Yeah I never understood why we affiliated with Casey after our break up with Sandringham.

Growth corridor to get extra supporters and $1 or so lease if l recall correctly.

Was never supposed to be the primary training oval/base.

Might be the result though, so prepare yourself there!

Didn't we win a flag as nomads? Richmond won 3 flags training on a tiny ground

Talent is the key, and lots of it (talent)

Tigers won 3 not as nomads, Harks won 4 @ Waverley yet people are bagging their former site, we cannot be nomads and yes we won a flag and a single site dosent guarantee a flag but the disconnect we have of HQ in a different roof is clear .. too far removed and what occurred since the flag with our culture and the whole handling of Trac after his injury, imagine the board/ president having to visit 2 seperate sites to get a feel of what’s going on, they get stuck at the G and live in a bubble too far removed , not acceptable and are getting left behind

other clubs got funding from the federal gov as well as the state gov, so not needing 70 from state. also if get an umpiring home training centre the afl might chip in a little.

Because IMO Dc they had grounds already e.g. The Dogs. we have zero as they wont let us on our home the G.

all probably true

i'm still hoping caulfied happens. might require a miracle

the lack of any progress news is a bit worrying ☹️

Cal twomey has said that our players expect to be moving to Waverley temporarily whilst Caulfield is built. Or words to that effect.

Like I had previously said.

Wrong decision.

Does this mean the government want us out of AAMI/Gosch's for AO at years end?

If that happens, does AAMI or Casey go or do we end up with 3 training venues?

I wouldn't be giving up AAMI in a hurry. Let's not forget that the Melb Storm share with 2 other clubs there and it doesn't seem to ever hurt their overall performance - constantly contending

Gee, the club must be very confident about Caulfield.

The shared facilities at AAMI are just that shared, there are lot of logistical issues with sharing, I hope the whole club moves to Waverley even interim & start learning what it’s like to be under 1 roof .. Hawks won 4 flags including a 3peat

Do the players have to line up for the dumbbells?

Wait for the hot water service to heat up again in order to take a shower?

17 other clubs don’t share, AAMI was a stop gap compromise, what’s embarrassing is Collingwood got the facilities we were turned down as we couldn’t afford it

I still believe is the broke state government that is the main problem.

Whats the bet they push us to Waverley, pies take goshes back as second oval, and Caulfied is years away...

Thats one way to lose members

That is actually what is happening.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
