Piont is it is a PUBLIC PARK, Anyone can use it at any time, there are zero tenets of use or ownership

PF it is the same for the racecourse which is designated as public space. I dont think there are too many dog walkers on the racecourse during tue Caulfield Cup.

Waverley would be a great get. First time in ages the club would be under one roof.

In substandard digs.

I'm confused, is the horse track staying? By the looks of the latest plan there isn't a horse track there.

It certainly is, the MRC will continue as usual. Horse racing at Caulfield is going nowhere.

Pert said that we had the worst facilities in the comp a couple of years ago.

The facilities at Casey are light years ahead of Waverley I’m afraid.

Gee PF I was only asking a question and giving a suggested answer there was no need to jump on me from your high horse. You can get back on now.

Read firstly old fella.

I am not PF for starters.

Secondly, you asked a question then followed through with a suggested answer based off your own personal agenda against moving to Waverley.

High horse? Ha, if thats how you interpreted my response then clearly you're sensitive sod.

I think @AzzKikA was being a tad facetious

Hawks won 4 flags including a 3 peat… I’m all for a new purpose build location but Waverley would be a better proposition in the interim logistically, we have issues attracting talent as Casey is too far .. Goodwin took a swipe on the way out on this

I wish I was that clever DD

A complete move to Casey is the most obvious and financially beneficial move that could be made.

Is Geelong too far from Melbourne?

Use the location to Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula as a asset

Based on zero evidence or fact.

You're just making your own assumption.

It was reported on here not long ago that the players are in fact looking forward to heading to Waverley.

Wasn't actually the question.

Do staff...I.e. Admin want to relocate to Waverley ?

They might ... i don't know. Does anyone ? 🤷

I know where you are coming from Beelzebub who would want to relocate from the G to Waverley. I’m with WayneWussell dig in, stay at Gosh’s until Caulfield is Signed, Sealed and Delivered, then we move. Are AFL trying to get our Head Office out of the G??

He also said that the club’s culture was the best he had seen in his 40 years in football, a couple of years ago.

Seems somewhat prone to overstating.

$20M could buy you a decent helicopter service for many many years.

Not as silly as it might sound

I can understand why admin want to move.

You only have to see the broom cupboards that they currently have to work in, which are spread across multiple locations at the MCG.

Honestly, it is only used because of the peppercorn rental which is charged to us, but given the conditions...it should only be peppercorn.

I don't know what the admin conditions at Waverley are like, but the reason Hawthorn are moving is that the FOOTBALL facilities are sub-standard in 2026.

I think the big difference is we have Casey, which by all reports is an elite facility just not an elite location. Whereas previously Waverley was the hawks only option from my understanding.

I think it’s a good short term option until we can get Caulfield sorted.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
