7. They were tricky with their 'top half of the ladder instead if top 8 question

I got 5 and was convinced I got almost all correct. ☺️

same here

shows how good we all are at forgetting such a dismal decade :(

Mind you anyone who really knew how many Dawes kicked to win the goal kicking has serious problems ?

8. Surprised actually. Wasn't confident.

Seven. Missed geelong score, nominated Green as captain just as I realised it was james McDonald...

Depressing questions. Esp. 186

6/10. Better than the team across the period.

7. I thought we had more coaches, less top-half finishes and Geelong kicked about 999 points. The veil of negativity weighs heavy

9/10

Bloody top half/bottom half question got me!

I should have got nine, but while I was pretty sure of one of the answers couldn't bring myself to accept that Dawes really was our leading goal-kicker with 20 in 2014. I blame Jack Watts. Also, who was Melbourne's captain to start the decade? It depends on what date is considered the start of the decade.

Same issue I had. Forgettable era.

10/10 but guessed at least 3.

Pretty sad really. I thought I'd repressed most of that decade. I guess not.

8/10. Tried to be a smart alec by not choosing Watts for kicking the winning goal in the QB clash. Thought it was another trick question like the top half question as he kicked the sealer. Was trying to remember our player that kicked the go ahead goal.

The 186 question should have a pass option.

8/10 Have been able to erase everything other than 186 from that Geelong game. Dawes got me  with 20, I was over optimistic with 25.

I don’t think we trailed.  Collingwood came storming back, we were up by 4, then Watts kicked the sealer, not the ‘winner’.

Fasalo I think kicked a goal after that which brought the margin back down to 4 points.

Flawed question.

Thanks 39. I was trying to remember if it was Hannan or Trac that put us in front but you’re spot on. We never actually trailed in the last quarter.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
