I just thought the Frawley link was to obvious and had been mentioned before.

Impey and Wingard have “improved” out of sight as players as well. Win some, you lose some, the Hawks player development is the big difference compared to the Dees.

Wingard has improved??? What games have you watched

Wingard won’t get another contract once his current one is up.

The Hawks give these players 2 years. Some stick around, the others are let go. But they are always looking.

After yesterday Hardwick will do similar, one spot on the list is all you need.

It's the Hawks system that is what's so good.

Their development is overrated.

Sure, they developed Hodge, Franklin, Roughead, Mitchell and Lewis, but IMO that's more about system.

And all the FAs and trades they've brought in for quite some time have been role players who have fitted into a system.

They don't have enough guns now, so their system doesn't stand up like it once did.

Surely... surely you aren't serious.

We do need an irony font.

But seriously, why would a person leaving be placed in such a representative position.

i reckon it could be an indicator that he stays.

Personally I don't care that much. The whole squad needs a real change of attitude  and approach. None of them should be looking at wage increases until they win a flag. I don't know how popular most of our players would be to any other club they have proven nothing. Every one has potential but few have shown it consistently.

Clarkson ain’t Stupid.

The Jury is still out at Melbourne

Clarkson may not be stupid but he does make mistakes. Frosty would make a great forward in rugger, with his build and speed.

Pros

He is tall, super quick and durable.

Cons

His marking, kicking and positioning are inconsistent. He has yet to show that he can play as a genuine key defender.

How much of salary cap do we pay?

I heard announced on SEN Langdon and Tomlinson IN and Frost OUT.  Is this not the case?

I don't think that's been officially confirmed, but it looks as though this will be the likely outcome when all is said and done.

So between rounds 1-8 in the Best and Fairest count Frost isn't even in the top 10. Bloke by the name of Marty Hore is currently sitting 7th.

Primw example of what the coaches think of him. I'd rather keep him if we could, but he's no big loss if he leaves.

Frosty's middle name/s is/are "dances to the beat of his own drum".

You missed the air quotes around “”improved””... as in he hasn’t. Hello McFly!!

For a club that has been very strong, Hawthorn definitely have a weird history of taking on Melbourne NQRs in this century. Paul Johnson is another and they nearly gave us Brad Sewell for Ryan Ferguson. Their interest in Frost is probably a good sign!

Not happy! Whatever we get won’t be worth what we are giving up unless there is a player swap that hasn’t been talked about so far.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
