Farewell Sam Frost

Interesting.

After the season he had, how would we feel about potentially losing him to another club?  At the end of last year it might not have mattered too much, but he certainly improving in 2019.

Any kind of source of reference for this mate? Didn't he just re-sign?

He was close. Not sure if this report is accurate but thought I’d pass it on. Hasn’t signed as yet

Would be a massive loss. Regardless of his disposals he is key to our future. Love how he plays. Can play big or small

Would be disappointing if he left.

I have no faith, trust or confidence in Lever and May playing a full season, and O Mac's not in our best 22.

Depends what we get.  Frost had a great season which gives him some currency.  We have O Mcdonald and Petty, plus Hore, May and Lever.  O Mcdonald is worth nothing in a trade, Petty the same, Frost we might get a second round pick.  I reckon to club would listen to offers fro Frost and Brayshaw

OK hawks pay for what they want, I say their first round draft pick will do.

Would be pretty Melbourne to invest in 2 injury prone highly paid Defenders that struggle to get on the park  and then let go of the next best defender, will finish top 5 in the Bluey, great cover and pace, and is flexible.

Say it aint so...

So we have Petty who is developing nicely, and OMac as depth.  Frosty might have legspeed to break the lines and may have some currency in this trade.  If he is going to the hawks, what do we get for him?  Assume he is not FA or RFA, so are we realistically looking at a second rounder?  Or maybe a future second rounder?  Would worry he doesnt fit their precise kicking model, as all he has is ‘frost-ball’.

Given we have May and Lever, Petty, Hore and Jetta, and one other (Hibbard?  Salem?) Frosty may think he has little chance of a regular place in the back 6.  He may move to the wing, but with options coming in (Tomlinson and Langdon), he might just want to explore his options going out.

Could be good for all parties.  Otherwise, he might just be enhancing his negotiating position.  Or he is lost and is asking for directions.

Could this be part of the deal that lands us Gunston? Who knows. #ETthetradebreaker.

I believe Gunston’s nickname at the Hawks is indeed Basil.

You made me go and look it up you bugger. It's actually Norman.

He's a funny unit Sam. he athletically is amazing but he does some bizzare things, i think he's a talanted individual but the amount of times he flies at balls he shouldn't and does weird things with ball in hand.

you kinda want guys who just fill a role, especially down back and i think Sam is probably one who has currency,

Is Frosty a RFA?

This brayshaw talk is crazy talk

what's his worth?

second round pick? third round pick and isaac smith?

he might not get better than he was this year and...he's still not that good

i think we paid pick 23 for him?

Third round pick and Issac Smith sounds like a good deal to me, i think we could use the experience.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
