Langdon, Tomlinson and Elliot would be a huge trade period.

If Frosty goes we will likely still hold picks in the first and second round to.

Add Pick 3 whether that's Hayden Young, Sam Flanders or Lachie Ash and it's a huge trade period for us!

Glad we are chasing after Elliot.

Look at the pies list and their imported players treloar, beams, Adams then pendels, Grundy, Steele, Moore, de geoy etc etc

there is no way they have cap space to offer Elliot a decent deal even. He will think of his future and move. Not sure it will be to the demons though

I don't know why people think Gold Coast will get pick 2 they have not been on the bottom for long enough they will get a 2nd round priority. It's all they deserve it flies in  the face of the Dees not getting a priority pick when they were terrible a few years ago.

No way Pies can afford him. He'd be looking at a hefty paycut to knock any offers back this year.

This is why you don't pay overs for guys like Frost and Jones.

In arguably career best form and is exactly the type of player we need.

Get it done.

Us being terrible years ago is irrelevant to the current GC situation. Gill will make sure his love child token club will get fairly compensated unfortunately.

This gets better.

Ageing and massive hammy history.  Our soft tissue management has been 3rd world.

Billy is a great player, from good stock (Mum) but we have NFI.

Panic merchants.

Would want the opinion of the Richmond doctor before signing him and four years at $600k is a BIG risk.

Garlett would have been on around $400k (guess) so it's a big step up.

I doubt it if he was looking after the Suns properly he never would have Lynch leave and leave a massive hole in their team.

I’d like to think we’re still looking at drafting in some small forwards. Always need to have an eye to the future as well as the present.

Are you talking about the club or yourself?

Probably Jordan Lewis in the Preliminary Final in Perth.  Saw it first hand unfortunately.

Next.

If our offer is 2 years like the pies, doubt he'd move unless the coin is significantly more. If we are offering 4 years compared to two, he might budge.

Still think he'll stay a pie

Had a feeling this was a possibility when the Frost issue arose.

As stated, Pies have a lot of stars and depth to cover in their salary cap. They barely signed on Langdon (a really good Backman) last year which showed the cap strain they are under.

Be good if there was some incentive based payments to hedge against injury.

Think he is a top class player with footy nous.

Who's his Mum? (Mrs Elliot, I know!, but is she an accomplished sportswoman?

No.  Good stock doesn't always mean sporting prowess.

He might not even want to leave Collingwood but I imagine if he did they’d struggle to match any offer we made. Big yes from me.

MFC  has made an offer to Jamie Elliot. Great get if it happens.

If you want the opinion of a Richmond person, just read the post directly above yours.

Yes.

Yes please.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
