Good get.

Richo, you will have your hands full and will be very very busy.

Good luck you will need it.

Cant see anything in Goodwin getting sacked on Sunday as per another thread if Richo has been appointed to assist him next season.

I reckon Jordan Lewis will be announced as a development coach or Mids coach after Saturday

I don't get that impression, I think he will be going the media route.

Exactly what I said in the other thread. Would be completely unprofessional to do so after that statement and would raise some serious integrity questions.

Agree but being professional and having integrity aren’t exactly our strong suit!

Did your gut read that in the adjoining article linked to the OP?

Of all people, Ethan the trade news breaker, you are knocking a poster for where he got his info.

You must feel it's like looking in a mirror.

Good get, I guess. He didn't exactly set the world on fire during his tenure at St Kilda but the fact is Goody desperately needs to be surrounded by experience and this is a good start.

My gut feel is Richo already had a relationship with Burgess at Port. I am not 100% sure of the strategy here - but my gut feeling again is the strategy is based around a similar one to which Burgess and Richo have done in the past.

Interesting times ahead - I hope the boys like running

They worked together in 2013 at Port, in 2012 Port won 5 games, in 2013 they increased this to 12 which is why Richo got the Saints gig.

Goodwin has the full support of the board.

The statement wasn't so much about Goodwin as it is for Richo's roll to help Goodwin. The statement doesn't fit the "Full Support of the Board" and then sacked narrative as you hope it does.

Ouch….

@Ethan Tremblay, I don't mean to be a pain but I don't generally read the HS. I find their material to be mainly..  rubbish.

But regardless I had a quick look for completeness sake (after you commented on my thoughts) and I'd love for clarity purposes if you could point out where in the article it says Richo and Burgess worked together in the past and also where it mentions the MFC were planning on changing the gameplan/strategy.

Thanks in advance

PS: I do enjoy the newsbreakers stuff... no hard feelings

Love UH

I expect being a senior coach can sometimes be a lonely job. Having someone around who has actually been there (and not in a caretaker role) gives Goodwin someone he can talk to who can empathise with those darker moments.

Provided they put him on game day strat & in the box vs the Aints that's at least two extra wins next season...sweet!  40% improvement on this year locked in already!

Two heads are better than one and a new voice / perspective now that Macca's gone might be a good tonic.

Good development coach and failed senior coach. Have we been there before? Good luck to him and us.

Imagine if we were to add Roughead as well.

Mail is Roughead will be on board next year as goal kicking coach as bare minimum.

Whether he has more of a role will depend on other options such as media etc.

Your ambivalence shocks me. Normally so positive

I'm all for changes, but it seems like we are having a complete overhaul.

Ouch.

I'll think twice before engaging with you in a battle of wits.

I read a few weeks back that Brad Green sadly lost his wife. Was he an assistant at any club? He could kick straight.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
