Will renew but most likely after the pre season games. Been a member in worse times than this one. Have hope.

I'll pay you if you will stop the whingeing and whining

Looking forward to you standing up at the AGM, if you are there of course, and stating your case, as if

I have already asked when I can renew and will be doing so at the first opportunity

We can all make up our own mind Saty.

However, if SWYL wants to suggest a form of protest then he is entitled to do so.

For another suggestion.
We could all send a box of chicken hearts to the club.

I will support a club that values me as a member.

I don't think it's smart to just follow anything with blind loyalty.

If they are open, listen to members views and take action then they get my money.

If they try to deflect & not take the hard questions at the AGM then they lose me.

There will be a fan forum after the season, plan your questions for then as all key people will be in attendance.

The same right as you who slag off people who disagree with you re the players.

Stop being so sensitive and have a discussion.

It’s been a good discussion so far, I take my hat off to the people that have already decided to renew their and their families memberships. To keep it going as it is, simply don’t reply to those who can’t keep it civil and decide to get personal.

This thread now has a poll.

Can we have a 'Downgrade' option?

For those that will drop the GFG or to fewer games etc.

now you want us to be Richmond supporters

I am an AFL member (Melbourne support) for 30 odd years.

Now days I travel a lot and get to maybe 8 Melbourne games and then supplement it with good neutral games usually against interstate teams where is it easy to rock up at the MCG or Docklands without reserving a seat.

Arranged my travel schedule this year to spend May onwards in Melbourne expecting a great season. Took off for Asia yesterday.

I'll renew next year but unless MFC gives me reason to renew further that could be the end for me. There's just other things to do and if they cannot be competitive I'm just not interested.

Like many have said this miserable season has even sucked the joy for me of watching other teams which was my saviour for so many years when we were hopeless.

I have gone on record as saying Goodwin should go and my reasoning is simply that the club is becoming irrelevant and the coach has not delivered. If we go to the bye next year and then sack him we will inevitably face another rebuild and from an MFC viewpoint we know what that means.

Finally the inability to influence a game with Gawn, Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw (names that excited so many only 12 months ago) is just so depressing to the supporter group.

For those not renewing, are you going stop whingeing on DL? I think it's only fitting you do

Exactly right, supporters, only when they are winning

Discussion, whingeing and whining from the usual suspects

Put up or shut up

I am completely dissatisfied in how we have.performed this season, difference is I don't have to slag off the players to make myself feel better

Made my feelings known to the Club and not from behind the anonymity of a keyboard or username

No ..... They sent a truck load of manure to Punt road.
Back in 2003 a disgruntled supporter of ours sent chicken hearts to Junction oval.
David Neitz wasn't impressed at the time but they were the yo-yo years and well deserved (which they are now).

Saty, I appreciate your training reports and contribution to Demonland but I don't agree with potting supporters who have had enough. I really hope that our supporters renew, and that more than 70% on here plan to is a real positive, but I respect those who don't plan to renew and hope that after a break from the emotional torture of this year they decide (foolishly or not) to give another roll of the dice.

To borrow the words of Max Gawn, you cannot win a premiership in the offseason but you can certianly lose one, the same applies to our supporter base who are important to achieving success and being a strong club.

Of course I will renew as I do every year with the MCC subscription. Now more than ever the club needs our support and not joining doesn't assist and I don't think it is a protest. The club is aware of supporter dissatisfaction and if you want to protest do say via membership otherwise your comment won't be read. Also don't take it out on the volunteer who may ring you next year when you haven't rejoined. Don't shoot the messenger.

I was duped in to commiting 2 months ago to keep my seats. Cant back away now.

Friday night's pathetic display from most, no spirit - no fight - no skills - no care factor against a bog ordinary out of form bunch of mostly bog ordinary footballers where we got trounced - zero improvement for the entire season (got worse as the season went on), was the final straw for me....

Switching off auto renewal of 3 memberships and might renew depending on what 'Actions' are taken in the off season and see how we start off in the first 5 to 6 rounds next year before deciding.

If we are still gifting games to the likes of Spargo, ANB and O-Mac i wont be renewing again until Goody's tenure is over.

If we are still playing a putrid crash bash "numbers getting sucked into the contest - pathetic structure on the outside" game style with no overlap capability, no tempo possesion capability, a terrible skill set and the AFL's reigning turnover kings i wont be renewing again until Goody's tenure is over.

New Captain - Has to be Max.  There is no one else with the right attitude/voice to take this club forward other than Lewis who is about to pull up stumps.

FCS build and create a potent forward line with a genuine KPF and some classy speedy smalls who can take contested marks, gather some crumbs and find the goals on a regular basis.  Get some run, class and finish on the outside!!

P.S.  Goody - Fritschkreig is our only decent forward right now ....leave him there and stop with all the insane experiments that take you 15 rounds before you finally work out they aren't bloody working!  Some players are meant to play and star in certain positions forward or back of the square...learn to recognise and accept it and play to their/our strengths wherever possible.

Note to the bulk of the playing group, at least those that survive what should be a massive list cull (exceptions Maxy, Clarry, Harmes, Salem, Frostmeister, Fritschkreig, May, Hore, Tracc, Lewis, anyone injured or coming back from a long layoff and the rookies),  ....

Step up and grow a pair you pea hearts or bugger off to the country leagues or VFL and stay there!

END

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
