Someone on Bigfooty said a source has told him that Tomlinson will be a Dee? Not sure who his source would be

If true, wonder if it could fit in with a DL's  post of Tomlinson to us, compo pick end of first round to GWS and then that compo pick plus picks 12 and 14 from GWS for our pick 3.

King appears to be out of the equation from GC for next year. If we lose pick 2, then 3 might be used in a deal.

We have been all over him since mid year. Not willing to publish contact source on here but I can categorically tell you we are on.

Is he actually any good?

I’m not convinced. Big lump, but he floats around up the ground and isn’t a great contested mark or physical threat. He’s got a bit of the “looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane” imo.

A bit of the “Paul Johnson”s about him? I think he’s a little better than that.

Will play the roaming tall role ala Hogan/Lynch(Ade). He’s an elite runner, so will be perfect leading up the ground as a linkman.

Hoping we get him via free agency.

He has been dropped for the final against the Dogs. Obviously on the outer as he won’t be there next year!

He's a bit of an enigma - definitely an untapped talent with all the makings of a very good player.  To this stage, he has been comfortably 'good'.  I've been keen for us to go after him as a free agent as he would add some much needed class and run to our side.

The concern is that in 8 seasons, he's never really cemented a position on the ground.  He's played forward, back and wing with some success, but has lacked the consistency and ball-winning ability to be considered a top player.  Reminds me a little bit of Jack Watts in that regard.

I will not reveal anything to anyone,  because people will ask for my source , and if I reveal it I could get killed, so I’m better off saying nothing.

Perhaps you've said too much already DeeZee!

I think you will find that he hasn’t locked down a position purely because he is flexible. Can play forward, back on the wing etc. considering most people called GWS the Ferrari, he has only missed 3 games in 3 years which says to me he is pretty good.

Would love Tomlinson on the opposing wing to Langdon. Running machine with good skills and we'd get him for free

He does move beautifully and kicks with a natural style rather well.

Geez i hate it when people say they have a source but refuse to pass on any information.

You should have just kept to yourself that you are keeping something to yourself.

Or did you?

Im confused........................................

From the Denver Broncos as specialist kicker, after his AFL career

He's been dropped because he's not good enough.

We were never interested in Tomlinson in the past for good reason.

He's wasn't what we needed and you know what, he's still not what we need.

He's a vanilla footballer who doesn't find enough of the ball...nice athlete, average footballer.

I sure hope we have more than Tomlinson (I hope we don't have him at all) up our sleeves otherwise we're f....,

Damnit Man! You've ruined everything!  Our entire trade period has just fallen in a heap because you couldn't keep your mouth shut.  This is a Deesaster!

I agree rjay, I've always thought the best trick in footy was getting the ball.  He doesn't.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
