The moniker for him in our household is "Little Richard". All wild hair, glinting ivories, sassy moves and stage presence to burn. Twists and turns and hits the scoreboard rather like LR hit the keyboard. Some of the shots of him bear an uncanny resemblance.

He’s put the competition on notice now, so get ready for the tag and defenders roughing him up. I don’t know why but I can very easily see Nibbler being the first in to protect him. I think the boys should be ready to “fly the flag” against the cats.

For that matter though Kozzie tackles as hard as anyone in the team so he will be up for it!

It's alright, Spargo will come to his aid ?

"How Dons missed Pickett, McDonald draft heist

Joe Daniher’s initial trade request bombed out. But how different would life be for the Dons had they done the deal with Sydney?"

Article on HS about Dons potentially missing Kozzy and Logan McDonald due to their reluctance to trade Danniher to Sydney. Good to be on the other side of these articles for a change.

Instead Essendon paid Daniher to rehab for the Lions the following year, genius from Dodoro

I feel a bit for Josh Mahoney having to spend his working life dealing with clubs who are in the "really crap" phase of their cycle. I think he's in for extended pain with the Bombers.

Maybe he's a masochist

Do you consciously stop at the keyboard and write the word Essen(drug), or J(eelong), or is it automatic for you these days??

Sorry for thread derail...genuinely curious.

It’s no longer us in the trade revision gun, it’s the Bombers but like us with the Josh Kelly, May for Pick 6 and trading up for Kossie Picket calls, I still think the Bombers have done ok with Cox and Perkins.

Jones has shown a bit so far and it’s only very early days.

Very happy to have KP, he has tricks that you just can’t teach

There's at least three blokes in MFC that one should not tangle with, and one of them might surprise.....

And it will be a total duck dive bonanza from the  the Geelong wussys come the weekend.

The plan of course is like always. Use the poor buggers in yellow to exaggerate everything while playing on, snide hits behind play, and stretching the rules to the point where no rules apply to them.

What i want to see is Goodwin walk through their huddle at three quarter time or/and Ollie best on G...

Kozzie has totally injected this side with life.

Similar to Ryan at the Eagles.

Betts when he was at Adel.

Papley at the Swans.

So good to have him in the side.

In GIF form.

And to anyone who thinks Kozzy shouldn’t do that he was probably just reminding him of half time

Koz would have to be delivering some serious one-liners out on the field, having a father who is a stand-up comedian.

Kozzy generates a level of excitement when in the vicinity of the ball that I haven't felt since Jackovich. His ability to recover his footing, his creativity, his physics defying movement, finding the goals - scintillating stuff.

Jacko moved more like a well oiled slippery caboose though.... whereas Kozzie well you have to really watch him carefully as he is that quick and zippy.  If you don't you are likely to miss it as it all happens in the blink of an eye.

Mind you when you add 30 years plus a ****ty day with rain fogging glasses you weren't wearing back then, missing Kozzie is more likely.

I was one of the people a little suspect on how soon Kozzie would have an impact.

Extremely happy to put my hand up and acknowledge I was wrong - he's now keeping his feet, nailing chances and creating some real headaches for opposition teams. His work in traffic is first class

Watch the highlights and listen to the crowd when he swooped on that ball inside 50 and kicked the goal.

It felt like the days of Jeff Farmer or A jakovich lighting up the G' on a wet day.  The whole crowd knew something special was about to happen.

That was Kozzies first game on the MCG since he really arrived in round 2 and you can feel hes going to make the stadium his own.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
