Adelaide kicked themselves out of the game in the first half with 4.11

Second half scores Port 9.9 vs Adel 0.2.  A shellacking.

Gee, we bemoan the lack of on-field leadership of our captains but at least they put their bodies on the line and go for it.  Tex shows neither leadership nor courage.  Would have to be the worst AFL captain.

Where the AFL want them.

Hasn't the AFL bent over backwards to push the druggies redemption story. Started off with an incredibly soft draw and, being a conspiracy theorist, I'm bemused by the free kicks they receive weekly when looking out of a contest. I'm sure someone will suggest I'm being paranoid and they would be right.

They actually wouldn’t give a stuff, provided the sponsors pay them big bucks so that they can get paid big bucks.

It is no longer a game for the people: it is a business money game for the likes of Gillon.

I agree completely.

I just needed to vent!!!!

Money talks, plus several Bummers fans on the Commission.

Thanks Clintosaurus. I did forget about that. Started with Spotless Catering and the old Ron Evans connection.

Things I'm not looking forward to -

Gold Coast in Round 23, playing the Giants who will not want to flirt with form at all going into the finals.

I've seen enough of the Giants to know that once they get a roll on, they wont take it easy the way Richmond did.

The 186 line is facing very credible threat.

Another  goalfest at marvelous Marvel.

I said to a Crows mate at the end of 2017 season, they have a 2 year window to win a flag.

They are well and truely cooked, they will be down there for a very long time.

12 games at Adelaide Oval will help them remain mid-table for a long time

6-13 is their sweet spot

Yep, meanwhile Eagles are on 53 points half way through the second in rain.

Yeah mid table not challenging, midas well be bottom, but they don't bottom out the crows. Won't be challenging for a very long time.

Yes, amazing isn’t it. So what was 6-6-6 supposed to achieve?

Geez Gablett is a whinier ... throw the ball, then his team mate kicked it away.

Why not 50 as per regulations?

OMG Trengove kicked into Hawkins man on the mark - goal.

Clanger +++

But a great win over the arrogant Cats.

Are the wheels falling off at Pie-land?

An undisciplined lot:  Stephenson bets on himself and his team.  Beams reportedly deep into gambling problems.  Now De Goey is fined for using-phone-while-driving.  Their is talk of unrest among young players over the club treatment of Stephenson.  Coach is frazzled.  Players look disinterested.

Suspect their poor recent form is much more than a few injured good players.

It will be bitter sweet if their season implodes:  Sweet that they fall.  Bitter that ours is worse.

It would be amusing should they completely fall away Luci and miss the 8 like some of their supporters are fearing. Then it’s a case of “see ya Round 1 next year Stevo”.

Their remaining games are tough with the exception of Suns and they have us of course. Look at their draw and you can maybe pencil in just two more wins. Hope it comes down to their R23 game against the Dons for a top 8 spot. Yuk, which team would we cheer on?

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
