POSTMATCH: Rd 15 vs Brisbane

As a starting point, Hunt can take a spell. Painful to watch. And he can lose the headband whilst he's at it. Perhaps look to play Toby Bedford to see if he can exert some forward pressure. No better time than now.

not the reason we lost, but the inter-state bias when it comes to free kicks needs to be fixed, i don't know how but the way inter-state crowds can influence decisions and the lack of consistency applied to visiting teams is infuriating.

Trade Bait: Hunt, Viney, Brayshaw, Petracca, TMac, Omac

Get rid of anyone who can’t hit a handpass. Hit the draft, stockpile top 20 picks.

Came down to a few things:

Gawn getting injured

Getting smashed in the middle/Clearances

Hipwood’s 15 minutes of fame.

32 scoring shots to 19... we were lucky to be within the proverbial bull's roar

Sorry, but Goodwin has hit the wall. He has no ability to change things mid game.

It still looks like Preliminary  Final 2018 on repeat....

I'd prefer Jade Rawlings. Very shaky match day coach imo.

I would take either of the Scotts over the imbecile we have running the show atm

He is not even close to being an AFL-standard coach.

Probably in the change rooms right now handing out hugs and bum-pats.

Whoever decided to extend him for 3 years can go as well.

Yeah, im [censored].

only getting 3 centre clearances well into Q4 absolutely killed us,  that is an area we are usually very strong in but apparently thats gone to shīt as well (max's injury probably did not help), but even when we won the hitout we would still stuff around, over-handball and it would rebound. really scratching my head as to how we can improve? :(

Looking at the positives it can no longer be paraded that we have been unlucky and time will sort this. Our list is dreadful and while Goodwin is coach we wont improve. There need to be serious change and the club need to accept that fact. When Roos left I had my doubts about Goodwin he is another Neeld. The whole board should also hang there head in shame. This just goes on year after year with the same crap spun to supporters. Who could have any confidence we won’t finish last next year where that bad. This is not just about one player but about a club culture that has existed for 50 years.

The  lads showed how desperate they are to salvage something from the season. A cracking 36 tackle effort. Very proud of the team again.

It is, and always has been, a bridge too far for people playing for this club to scrap and fight for wins to drag this club up from being a genuine embarrassment.

Too many MFC players didn't want the ground ball today and instead played/sweated the man, often running straight past the contest.  Some of our boys didnt want it and most of the Lion mids and others did.

Soft as butter and oh so predictable from Goody & Co.

The only thing that's changed is we've changed a few coaches.

It's the same crash bash 'numbers at the contest' manic game style under Goody that will never win many matches unless you have your top 20 to 22 players in and playing at their best and in peak fitness.

Three more years of this trash?  The MFC hierarchy will no doubt keep towing the improvement/development line during the entire tenure, hoping the fans will take the bait!

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
