If you want to see how to do a club rebuild look at the Lions. Go out and get a gun midfielder and recruit a spine. Get a legend Hodge to teach kids what it about. Get a coach from a winning culture. Compare that to us we recruit a coach from the druggies. Say it all

Fagan spent 8 years coaching at Melbourne around our 2000 grand final appearance, is that the winning culture you were talking about?

[censored] me Salem is the only player in this team who should kick a football.

Who the [censored] is on Zorko? What is the setup? How are our coaches not under pressure?

North lost their coach and are above us on the ladder? Richardson under pressure but St Kilda are also ahead of us. So how then is Goodwin not copping it for this rubbish season?

Fair question...but want get sacked as just signed....

Will he ever cop any pressure for his terrible coaching? Lack of game plan? Poor set up? Stupid team selections?

How is Goodwin beyond criticism?

Aaaaaaand that’s me switching off much like Melbourne for the last 5min of the 3rd quarter until now.

Why the [censored] is Weid jogging to the ball when it’s kicked to him inside 50?

Saw this, he does it a lot, as soon as he thinks his out of initial contest he calls it quits instead of pushing to still make a contest of it. Who the [censored] does he think is going to mop it when it lands when his still the closest player? Lazy player

Recruiters? I am really fed up with the coach too!

Phark this footy club.

Weak.

Pathetic.

Embarrasing.

Laughing stock.

What else?

Umm...

Shameful

No I just think the terms weak, pathetic, embarrassing, laughing stocks and shameful ought to do it.

[censored] them!

Just gave up. Can’t mark, can’t defend, can’t kick a goal without them kicking one back. Another win we just [censored] away. I’m cooking dinner now. Not eating late to witness this pitiful effort

really hope lessons are learned.

Why is Gawn on the ground? Doesn’t appear 100%.

You missed the ankle injury

Baker showing why he was delisted from Brisbane without getting a game. Looks a mile off it and has been caught more times than any player I can remember.

Get Gawn off the field. He’s clearly injured so why bother risking making the injury worse!

Lions 2 injuries, means you field your best team.

We’re playing guys like Hore, Hannan, T Smith, Baker, Petty who just aren’t  good enough at the moment.

Also why do so Melbourne players fly for the mark both ends and nobody roves the pack!

The only players worthy of today's paycheck. Salem and Fristch because of their use he foot, and May and Frost down back. Jones also did some good things. The rest rubbish, skills and decisions.

cant mark cant kick .not being coached .cant mark

Zero chance of that. That would require Goodwin to actually have a plan B.

No I saw the ankle injury. I fear another Joel Smith scenario

At least they are playing Gawn deep forward and not in the ruck.

You might care to check he was at Hawthorn when they won three flags in a row

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
