Same here and was at the G in 64 GF. Allot of us are well into 60's or older as Dees were dominant back then and kids like me supportrd them In my case it was a case of going against parents as both followed Magpies!.

Need to win today and I'm confident we will.. Cover Neale with Harmes, Backline to play well and TMac to give Andrews the run around.

Damn! You know how to rub it in, Andy.

We are playing an absolutely full side, in years’ best form,  on their dung heap, without several of our best players like Lever, Melksham,AVB, Nev etc.

They deserve to be hot favourites.

We seem to be more keen on late changes this year compared to previous years under Goody. Do we think, given finals really are out of the question, Lewis may potentially get brought in for a farewell against his old mate?

Andy, hope you and Scoop Jnr and little miss Scoop Juniors’ junior have a great day at the Gabba and can enjoy a win by the Dees, making the drive back to the Gold Coast more enjoyable .

I reckon we are a red hot chance. T Mac will continue his form from last week.

Assert ourselves, get stuck into Neale and Cameron

oliver 40 touches and bog

Alex Witherden is a late out for them.

Good for us as he has given them some real good drive from half back.

I live 700 metres from the Gabba.  Clear blue sky right now although we had a couple of heavy showers overnight. Have had some rain most days this week so the deck may be a little slippery. Predicting 25 degrees though and no doubt for you southerners up here for the game, it will be sunscreen, shorts and polo shirts!  ? 14 degrees in Melbourne today.......

Hope to catch up with a few of you either at the German Club pre match or the Pineapple post game.

Where are all the Demonlanders at the German Club?

Boys are warming up, 23C, sunny and very slight breeze, perfect football conditions, ground could be a bit soft on the northern side, otherwise looks perfect.

At the game and it’s a cracking day.

Lets hope the footy is as well.

Tried to upload a photo but being technically challenged I have tried and failed

Astonishing that if we win today we are somehow only 2 games out of the top 8, with a much easier draw compared to other teams to come. If we had gotten the job done against WC and Adelaide we would actually be locked on points with the 8th team.

We'd also be on top of the ladder rn if we'd won every game so far this year!

Amazing really!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
