I think TMac is injured but having a laugh at the end was a bad look. Disappointed.

Yeah he looks injured, so don’t play him, he should be embarrassed the way he has played this year

Gets a big contract and loses interest

Time to Make Max captain.

Jones will be leaving and looks like Viney cant turn it around.

The feared centre ball getters of last year as changed dramatically.  At least Gus improved today.

H arnes has stepped up incredibly  but it cant just be him and Oliver. Perhaps Trac needs to play in the middle every game?

Spargo shouldnt be picked again.

Although Garlett has kicked a few he goes to ground too easy and one point gave up chasing.

Can May play forward?

Fair dinkum, no wonder our skills are so bad after shooting ourselves in the foot every game on numerous occasions, we should just put the gun too our head and just end the misery ?......fortunately I get a laugh out of our ineptitude these days, I’m way past the anger.

Trac looks so much better in the middle! He was generally good today.

We have three major problems IMO.

The first is the gameplan. It’s been tweaked (we keep more forwards deeper than we used to) but it’s not working, and so long as it’s not working it hurts our confidence as we see fast break after fast break turn into opposition goals.

The second is the forward line. Whether injured or not, TMac shouldn’t be playing. He’s a complete shadow of his 2018 self and is a liability offensively and defensively. But it doesn’t stop there. Our forwards are low skilled, lacking confidence across the board, slow and weak defensively. Even a modicum of scoreboard pressure would make us a better side but we continually miss easy shots and either fail to put our opponent under pressure (eg today) or we keep the door open (eg last week).

The third is our co-captains. Would Viney or Jones be playing on this form if they weren’t captains? IMO, they wouldn’t.

I loved seeing May and Lever, and Gawn was unbelievable against a superstar opponent. Harmes and Brayshaw were strong all day and I thought Weideman got better as the day went on. But we’ll finish bottom 4 this year and we need to address all three of the above issues to move forward.

I will say it again We are horrible.

What the hell are they doing at training??

Cant pass, kick or mark.

PATHETIC.

How the hell does Garlett and Spargo get a game ahead of Preuss.

Its mind boggling.

While there are issues I would suggest the teams ability to execute simple skills is more of an immediate concern.

Im not saying Goodwin has nothing to answer for, I am not on the simpleton bandwagon that it's his fault.

Whats another year terrible year in the grand scheme of 6 decades of tripe.

It's a lot easier to tear things down and start again then it is to build something special

I am no "simpleton" and did not say its all his fault. Clearly the players are serving up dross as well. It wasnt them who made the grand statement about "building something special" though. He wears that by himself.

Petracca to the midfield waa a good move at least. Best game he's played all year.

I thought he was good also dazzle. We need to put some time into the back half of tracs season and see what he can produce around other parts of the ground.

I will differ with you on one point. I thaught Spargo actually played an okay game. It is just his disposals but he had a red hot go more than many other players. Jones has to retire at end of year but I don't think he will.

I dont doubt Spargos commitment but I dont think he is big enough for Afl and his disposals are panicky.

If either are played again it's true neglegence.

Jones must give himself a rest.

There were actually some very good signs today imo. Yes, Spargo and Garlett were dismal but May and Lever did well given time away from the game. And, really, Gawn was the best player on the ground. We are missing another key forward but it's far from hopeless.

Weed presented well too.

Pruess must get a game next week, [censored] to death of Wagner, Spargo getting games before him, Goodwin must stop playing favourites, and play deserving players

You are probably right and I have been calling for his head as well but I noticed him at the ball a lot today so he seemed to stand out.

Brayshaw and Petracca should always play middle with Harmes and Oliver as they are just better in there with Trac as a bull and Gus the class.

Id use Viney as the next rotation and train him as a small forward tackling machine aka Dauhaus.

We need a big presence up forward and I believe a May or Preuss would go a long way to fixing this, along with the return of Melksham.

TMac must be rested or sent back.

Jones and Garlett are at the ends of their careers now so have to bring on the likes of Lockhart and Dunkley .

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
