Lazy loose checking undisciplined mentally weak poorly skilled but otherwise a nice bunch of chaps.

You could see it a mile away.

Its rinse and repeat stuff.

Not even angry anymore.

There is so little will to win in this team its staggering.

&*^k off mate.

Nah just kidding. We're a heavily depleted team with some notable under-performers on the ground, and when we have Lever, Melksham, May, Jetta and Tom MacDonald back in the team we'll enjoy a glimpse into a much more enjoyable next season.

(What, you mean some of you were still holding hope for this one?)

Pathetic display of composure in the second half.

Nobody could step up and actually kick the one goal we needed.

Played like scared little boys again when the heat was on.

Best example, Spargo hand balling to Jones early in the last.instead of taking the shot.

TMac could not get a game over Weideman next week.  That's how bad he's going.

And OMac could be replaced with a piece of s#*t on a stick for all I care.

Why waste a good stick.

Taken you a long time to come to that conclusion.
Been mentally weak as long as I remember.

I have to say this.  Garlett is weak as [censored].  For all his speed and skill, he tries to run past contests and do a magic slight of hand tap to knock the ball clear rather than putting his body in.  He misses goals because he's more worried about being tackled than taking an extra step to line the shot up.  He dropped multiple marks tonight because he was looking for who was coming at him rather than watching the ball into his hands.  I don't care how many scores he had, he doesn't do the basics right and he's afraid of contact.  He has to go.

That was actually harder to lose than win.

But not for the experts in losing - we could write the text book on how to throw games away. How many games have we just completely thrown away in the last few years by our own doing?

That was by far the worst of them - it was absolutely ridiculous to lose that game of footy.

One of the biggest chokes I reckon I've seen

Demoralising defeat. If there was snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the dictionary there would be a photo of us.

MFC. The club that takes you right to the edge of the water but no drink.

25 Metres out directly in front.

Its not possible to miss that last kick. Tim Smith’s Miss was just as bad. As for Garlett’s dropped mark in the pocket. Just can’t comprehend how such basic skill errors are possible? The Demons Complete & total embarrassment in 2019......

Pathetic to throw away a lead like that. Hang your heads MacDonalds and Frost. Garlett should have kicked 5 and in true fashion squibbed some physical contact. Totally unacceptable loss.

If you continue to  play that squib Jeffy, this club deserves every loss it will have.

The sad fact is deep down we all knew this would happen because that is the club we have become .

If we dont go after a proven full forward that can kick 3 or 4 a game we are doomed.

I'm no bloody expert but mental strength for athletes comes a lot from practice and preparation.

You practice over and over and over again until there is nothing to worry about or fear.

As many have posted this year they are supposed to be professional athletes. Fmd

It reminds me of Melbourne in 2003. We looked sublime in patches but never really got going and only won 5 matches that year. Need a big forward in the trade/draft period to replace Hogan.

Whoah whoah whoah

cool the jets

oscar is l’homme!

i remember some fairly heavy sh4t canning of the team in some losses was howled down but it’s now being shown up

at Least 2 wins cost by poverty stricken kicking

indictment on coach not to get a grade kicking coach

it’s hilariously Melbourne but

Presser nearest to the pin:

”Lots of improvement”, “they are a good team, Adelaide”, “No excuses”, “better connection”, “our brand of footy”,.. blah blah blah.  Vomit, spew cry

Hard team to support.  Collingwood will tear us a new one after dropping one to the dockers this week.

I had to turn if off when we were 32 points up and actually expected to lose. Saw the result and wasn’t surprised. I have no expectations with this club. 40 years of disappointment.

Are you an alias for Simon Goodwin

Looking forward to his “positive spin” and “empathy with the supporters” BS.

How about spending all next week doing hail kicking

Once again about 20 more inside 50s to no avail.  Just abysmal.

Stuff playing in the NT get rid of this game Melbourne.

Why?. Adelaide would have given us a hiding at the G as we can't play there. We have been OK in the NT. Get rid of Oscar and JKH and we win easily. Not to mention the pathetic effort of our forwards in last qtr. At least we get Lever, May, Salem & maybe KK for next game.

I do not want to see Oscar or JKH play for this club again. Casey rest of year thanks

Garlett dropped that mark in the pocket in the last quarter because he sensed that he might get contact he didn't & we missed an opportunity 2 get an easy goal. I am over him squibbing it. There was another time he didn't want 2 pick it up because he doesn't want contact.  I feel JKH is the same. Tim Smith missed his goal because of pressure. Weed because he got 2 close 2 the man on the mark.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
