I love Hunt, but he is not a forward’s [censored] with that sort of kicking. Neither is Petracca.

I have nothing to add other than I was wrong about Hore.

You're not alone CB . . . any Hore's are going to be difficult to assess without first had observation.

6. Gawn

5. Hore

4. Viney

3. Harmes

2. Baker

1. Frost

He’s a sub par AFL player but thought Josh Wagner was easily in our top 5 best. Bloke battled hard all day.

6. Gawn

5. Hore

4. J Wagner

3. Baker

2. Viney

1. Harmes

From the Tv.

6-Gawn

5- Hore

stretching it now

4- Viney (just needs to tidy up disposal)

3- J Wagner (He might prove me wrong)

stretching it even further ie struggling

2- Baker (I really like his style of play)

1- Frost ... because lots of others were passengers

16 others - 4 ok and 12 absolutely need to look in the mirror (Brayshaw and Petracca are really really disappointing me this year)

I was unfortunate enough to be at the game and in the first half I saw Max Gawn play one of the great one out games.  He was magnificent and without him we would have been at least 70 points down at half time.  Hore and Frost were the only other players who gave anywhere near an acceptable performance in the first half.  Based on the fact the game was effectively over at half time I'd go:

6 Gawn

5. Hore

4. Frost

3. Viney

2. J Wagner

1. Baker

6 Gawn - just a giant of the game and one of the best in the Comp now.

5 Hore - did he role nicely but disappeared after half time.

4 Viney - lifted in the second half and looked likely

3 Frost - Gave us run and carry we are missing

2 Trac - just does what others can’t and moved into the midfield to get us going

1 Hunt - should have had more but lead tackled and did the right things.

Gawn

Hore

J Wagner

Viney

Baker

Harmes

6: Gawn (the one man band)

then I suppose:

5: Hore

4: Viney

3: Baker

2: Hunt

1: Frost

and Petracca was OK last quarter.

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
