I hear you Dub but I'm not gloating given they beat us only a few weeks ago and how we've been travelling till last week.

Just coz we are rubbish doesn’t mean we can’t take delight in bombers pain. ?

In the days of Ricky Barham flying down the wing and Tommy Hafey as their coach they were my second team.

Carlton could be in for another painful long day.

Best thing about that is, if Carlton aren't in for a painful day, then with the way expecations are going, Collingwood will have to be in for a long painful day instead.

The perceived mismatch is so great that there is almost a zero-sum game for supporter angst - every moment of relief for Carlton adds an equal amount of frustration for Collingwood.

These first quarters are so low scoring. Yawn...

Why don’t they raise the main broadcast view camera (on center wing) higher so the game is easier to watch on TV?

The perspective is just too flat - makes the game look even more congested than it really is.

Hasn’t improved since Alf Potter’s day.

Why don’t they ever have one camera focused for sun and one for shade?

Carlton are looking better?

Think about what your saying Jane......

Free kick count in the Pies game please?

The Blues beating them on the ground and in the air.  Their closing speed is cutting down the Pies and their usual space/time to make good decisions with clean disposal.

Cripps what was that disposal i50...and a fumble arghh

Stats say it was 21 frees each.

Didn’t watch the whole game to comment, but in general it’s more where they are paid

Fantastic pressure Silvagni ...amazing goal Cripps!  Common Blues!

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
