Watch the whole game, and assess it in its globality. He had double the number of 1%ers as anyone else, and was in the top half dozen for marks, 3rd for rebound 50's. Sure, he made a couple of mistakes and didn't dominate, but not he's Robinson Crusoe in that regard.

Weiderman best on for us. Has had a really solid game. Could have been a lot better with 2.3 but has been all around the ground, taken some good marks, hit some great kicks. If he had the 4 goals he really should have had, we would have been talking about him coming back next week. Probably another game in the 2's to build up the confidence. He really is a cut above at this level, however, he really is doing all the work himself, whereas in the AFL he relies more on people hitting him on the chest.

They are pretty selective and limited stats. He had 3 intercept possessions, the equal lowest of any of our defenders with Wagner and only 108 metres gained. So the marks and rebound 50's are mostly coming because he sets up for the short kick out or sideways kick then gets the ball from back 50. He had an exceptionally limited attacking game, which is a concern because he has the size and skills to take more intercept marks and to get involved in rebounding the ball with counter attacking play. He'll never be a defensive star so a two way game gives him the best chance of contributing each week.

The 1%ers come from spoils and he was better yesterday at getting some decent spoils. Some of those should be marks against the likes of Mitch Lewis and Roughead - both limited key forwards - but at least he wasn't conceding marks when matched up on those guys.

At the end of the day he's in the team ahead of Petty because he runs hard and smartly to get to the right defensive spots and on good days he can spoil the ball, plus he doesn't turn it over as he uses it safely. All the stats in combination point to the style that he plays.

Petty reads the ball better to mark, but that means he can be caught or pushed under the ball. He has a more natural counter game by taking intercept marks and a nice penetrating short kick, plus good handball skills on both sides. But he can't string together a good month at VFL, he's far too up and down. Until he puts together a consistent run of games he's too risky to pick. He wouldn't be directly replacing Oscar anyway, he'd be put in more of an intercepting role which would mean Hore and Frost would have to be reshuffled/replaced. With Lever hopefully not too far away and Lewis in the side now the last thing we need is another intercept player who struggles to defend. Oscar is only an mediocre defender but he at least positions himself to do that defensive job.

I wasn't making a point. Simply saying watch the last qtr again.

But seeing as you have raised it he was quite sound in the 3rd qtr buthe last when the game was on the line was deplorable and frankly unacceptable. When the game is up for grabs I want players who will put their body on the line and show desperation for the ball.

Can you sau OMac did that in the last? Nup.

Give me a player who attacks the ball with ferocity. Not the wet lettuce like OMac. He simply isn't dependable and rarely beats his man, He has no defining traits as a footballer and is slow of body and mind. 

Other than that he is great.

Hi KC mentioned 3 goals to Weid but I see the match report only lists 2.

Dee-Licious posted earlier that he had 2 goals 3 behinds and was playing well.

I think as his confidence has suffered he’s stopped ‘doing the work’ that it sounds like he was back to doing today

I still reckon our best forward structure can accommodate him, Preuss and T Mac all together
