Time to get Fritsch out of defence. Experiment is failing

8 scores from 14 entries for the Saints.

Our defence is easily the worst in the league for that stat

.

It’s an absolute shambles.

Imagine playing a good team. Saints have been rubbish and now kick away.

It’s unwatchable.

Putrid. Saints have thrived on poor opposition disposal all year

Lost this game at the selection/matchup table. Coaching heads need to roll.

Free to us ignored then one paid to them. Cheats.

We over complicate footy. 1 on 1 we would beat most sides, definitely St Kilda. So stuff zone defence and just play the shoulder and win the hardball. Impossible team to watch. I hate watching us play

The red time of this quarter will tell a heck of a lot about where we are going this year.

Lewis gives away a second goal

This is Round one all over again.  Turning the Ball over. Dominating inside 50’s & being bullied & pushed around by skinny kids.  Absolute Joke.

Just now, Kelpien said:

That was ball on Kent. Cheating umpires.

The umpires didn't miss that one.

we lost this the moment Gawn dropped a sitter on the members wing in the first.

We play Hollywood football. Saints legit look like they want to win. We just kick and hope.

If Pruess could mark he would be a star.

Hands like toblerones

This is embarrassing.......

Our kicking is atrocious. How much do these players get paid? Seriously can't even hit a target 20 Metres away.

Again dominating inside 50s. Over handballing.  Frustrating

1. Goodwin can't coach

2. Spargo should never play again

3. Tom McDonald is as bad, if not worse than Oscar

4. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TRADED JESSE HOGAN

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne
