Our options are not great but I would definitely have Spargo ahead of Garlett. Spargo at least places some offensive pressure whereas Garlett applies zero.

Frying pan or fire choice.

Garlett has had 10+ years to develop some sort of defensive game. Spargo at least lowers his eyes and doesn't try to be fancy. Garlett with his half-hearted spearing kicks forward, and one-arm tackle attempts can languish in the VFL for the rest of his career. Spargo plays the team game. We can't keep gifting downhill skiers like Garlett games just because he turns it up in the VFL for one week against the worst side.

Yes, we will never be a Club until we have . a proper home base. I take my hat off to all those who go to Goschs paddock but ii is an embarrassment. Shame on every previous administration and this one. It is not the only reason, but the Saints are thriving back at Moorabbin.

Couldn't agree more. Somebody else (maybe it was you?) got bagged for saying this a few days ago, but you're right. Somewhere to take the kids, gaze at the photos and trophies on the wall. Somewhere to bond.

Was just reading how the Pies have been given $15 million by the Coalition which will help with their new base (a sports and medical research centre) . Been others over the years (Geelong, Dogs etc) Never seems to come to us.

I just do not understand it. Literally pick any senior footy club in Metro Melbourne and at least they have a home ground with a club house, parking area and other facilities. There must be clubs somewhere where we could piggyback on their infastructure.

Waverley Park will be free in 2022

Not really  'OD',

One is 19yrs,  and the other is 30Yrs.

One has already played senior footy in his 1st Yr, and starred.   So he is having an OFF year,  in his 2nd Yr.

The other hasn't shown anything really for since 2017...  and still lacked presence.

Hello bottom of the ladder, my old friend. We seem to be always meeting up despite my optimism.

'GRAVITY',  is the issue.  We're  too  Heavy,  and no,  he isn't our brother.

At least we Know Garlett can do the job, the other one never will.

If we were to win the spoon it would be up there with recent plummets. Champion data had us the best ranked list and many pundits had us as flag favourites. Although we did get a whopping great hint in the last game of the season.

The predictable path from here would be to somehow scrap together some wins against average opponents or on smaller grounds where we can’t get torn to shreds, and crawl our way to about 14th.

And then it’s back to the draft. The year after we all but missed out on a “super draft” in which Port essentially set themselves up for the next decade with one batch of kids. While we picked up yet another inside mid.

Melbourne life.

By that logic, we should be picking David Schwartz as a key forward

Would he be worse then the current brigade?

Our game plan has been superseded it’s now old , and teams have gone right past us , and the Swans , who coincidentally had the same Roos type foundations.

We don’t have a plan B , so this year is almost a right off until we have another preseason to work out something new and have a crack next year.

Eerily similar to the Daniher years.

Do we get to keep our first draft pick at the end of this season?

Yes thank god.  Can you imagine if we had traded it and were in our current position?

Yeah it good to see the bottom again......... NOT !!!     However I will  almost damm guarantee  finals 2020.  A fit lever  May   some good draft picks   the 14 operations folk fully fit again.  and away we go 2020  (I hope)

The way we are playing ATM, I have no idea when our next win could be. This is the part that scares me.

Among the hundreds of rubbishy, self congratulatory , oh look at me I bleed football comments in here...this resonates above all. It speaks to a question surely we all wonder.

@jibroni I agree.. I'm concerned. I see nothing...I mean NOTHING that encourages a belief.

Each week more harm happens to the real brand of this club...not the BS brand the club's fools would have us buy into.

Our brand is in reality what we bring to the game. Currently....it ain't much.

When do we win ? .... even worse....will we win ??

Not before the half way mark of the season and then it will really depend who and how many we get back from injury.

In the immortal words of SA Gibbs... you think ??

I'm not even thinking that OD

I actually, disheartenedly , believe , our real base line is NO wins. We might pull a rabbit or two...but ....

There's a lot of people not really understanding what it is that occurring before their eyes.

What I see is incredulous.

I have a funny feeling we will lose every game at the MCG this year and win more than half of our away games.

we've been average at the MCG since Goodwin took over. I wonder how much longer we have to put up with his stubbornness.

I think we better get Plan A working before we worry about plan B.

Our current game plan and/or its implementation is way off the mark.

It scares me too that I can't see where our next win is coming from. We ain't beating Hawthorn this week in our current state.

I honestly think we're a sniff against Gold Coast next week and possibly Carlton in round 16 and Bulldogs in in round 17 if both sides aren't mentally switched on.

I think there will be a tipping point (in terms of coaching or staff movements) if we can't beat Gold Coast, the team we were leading 77-6, ten minutes into the second quarter in round 19 last year.
