@old dee - see what I meant?

Exciting news. A win tonight coupled with a prime time Friday night game next week could give us another nice boost.

Yep. We'll finish on 52 or 53k I reckon. And next year we aim for 70k again and all being well, we'll get past 55k and maybe even 60k. I think that's our ceiling until we win some flags.

I don’t believe we have a ceiling, with the weekly migration into Melbourne.

We need to win more than we lose and gain some traction in the FTA TV games...

70,000 is very gettable...

Could not be happier  t_u  I hope you are also correct on the win tonight. However I am very doubtful on that one. Just cannot see us being able to turn around so many things in one week at the house of pain.

2018 record broken:  45,248 today.

And still 4 months to go before the cut-off date.

https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2019-03-29/melbourne-breaks-membership-record

Well done to all Dee fans!

that's great, but it would be better if they could update the web site which is still quoting 44,008 (on both home page and membership page)

Migrants won't go for average teams for long. They might support Melbourne when they initially choose but people are easily poisoned into following the big successful clubs.

Without flags, we have a ceiling IMO. We need to brush off the lack of respect tag and for 50 years we've been at the bottom. That can change with a flag or two.

I think you may both be right! Greater Melbourne has been growing by 100,000 people per annum for the last few years. Some of that may be Australians from elsewhere who may already support a team, but I suspect most are from overseas and therefore unaligned. But I also agree with A F that without a premiership (or two), it may be difficult to convert these unaligned supporters into Demons.

The population of Melbourne is irrelevant.  These are all AFL affecianados ?? Get real.

You need to look at those who are reasonably described as potential MFC members.

No success..then even current 45k unsustainable.

Win a flag 75-80 K...all those in the woodwork or on the fence.

70,000 is a pipe dream. The club’s lucky they conned enough of us to beat our record and get close to 50,000. The 70,000 talk shows how delusional the higher ups are and how far off the pace we still are.

Chugging along nicely at 47,174.

6,600 ahead of similar time last year.

On last year's trend we should end up at around 52,000+, a 15% increase on 2018.

Our long term aim is 70,000 not in 2019. Remember when Tigers declared that they would have 75000 within 5 years, play finals and win a Flag. They have achieved that and more and now their President is being hailed next CEO of AFL..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
