That's fifteen... if I understand correctly there are 40 on an AFL list plus 7 rookies.

Perhaps we may need to call some demonlanders up for a game.

PS: There was a time several years back when Collingwoood had to advertise for players to make up their VFL numbers

We had, what, six afl listed players in the vfl yesterday? Barrel well and truly being scraped

Actually 39 and 6 rookies Jim. Of that 39, 14 currently on the injured list, of which arguably 11 are best 22

Just read the report on the Melbourne FC web page about Hibbo only being out for a couple which is handy.

It’s hard to compete when your first choice backline is looks like:

FB:  Knee.    Knee.     Concussion

HB:  Groin.    Groin.    Collarbone

emergency (Lewis) to be advised.

edit: forgot our forward line:

HF: Knee.   Soreness.     Ankle

FF:  Foot      TMac       Jeffy

But of course!

Why wouldn’t you take a risk with a best 22 player and a foot injury? This has never ever ended badly.

Seriously laughable.

Just another blight on mission and our medico's how the [censored] do we let a guy with a broken [censored] foot play out a game.

Those who were at the game would have seen this, but I’ve never seen somebody look so lame when he hobbled back on.

“Jake’s got a fracture mid-foot which is reasonably significant so he’s probably going to take at least four to five weeks,” Misson said.

Get [censored].  We are screwed now.   Melk is one of our top 5 most important players.   And given Missons pitiful track record with foot injuries,  I have zero faith melk will get back at all this season.

Did he? I read that he first went off in the third quarter, but the break happened in the fourth quarter.

A 15-player injury list is sizeable. On the AFL's website (which is not up to date), St Kilda has 14 players listed but most other clubs are 10-12, and some are much less (e.g. Brisbane has three).

More importantly, of the 15, 8 are first choice 22 (Lewis, Lever, Melksham, Hannan, May, Hibberd, AVB, Jetta) and a further 4 (Weideman, JKH, J Smith, KK) who are on the fringe, if not actually best 22.

It's tough going for us on this front at the moment.

What’s going on down there, J Smith does his groin in a practice match comes back on & looks like he’s going to miss up to 16 weeks & now Melksham has a fractured foot & he comes back on.

Im surprised Hibberd didn’t play out the game with a broken collarbone

Not to mention Viney the last couple of years

No wonder Misson leaving at years end, before he gets the sack!!!!

I’m assuming the only reason he came back on was due to rotations. He couldn’t even jog when on the field.

Do we sob it up and concede it’s not our year due to injuries or do we draw inspiration off Richmond who are getting it done despite their injury crisis?

Agree.  I had 9 out of best 22 with Weideman still in my best 22 based on what he can produce and the role as a CHF:FF

Just to add to our woes, a poster has reported in the Sam Weideman thread that he needs hip surgery ?

Why the outrage, for all we know going back on the ground may have helped heal Jakey boys foot and reduce time out of the game. Looking forward to the whining from so called doctors on here.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
